When it comes to race obsessed leftists like Melissa Harris-Perry, you have to remember that you’re dealing with someone who can’t separate race from any subject. It’s not a matter of what is racist in our culture, it’s a matter of what isn’t, because to Melissa, pretty much everything is racist.

That would include Star Wars of course. On Sunday the MSNBC host admitted that she felt Darth Vader was a racist symbol in the series because he is dressed in black, among other absurd observations.

“Yeah, like, the part where he was totally a black guy whose name basically was James Earl Jones, who, and we were all, but while he was black, he was terrible and bad and awful and used to cut off white men’s hands, and didn’t, you know, actually claim his son. But as soon as he claims his son and goes over to the good, he takes off his mask and he is white. Yes, I have many, many feelings about that, but I will try to put them over here.”

She clearly must have never seen Star Wars, because Darth Vader tries to reunite with his son and invites him to join the empire, long before he takes his mask off. In any case, the association between darkness and evil predates our culture’s race politics. Only a hypersensitive moron would draw such a conclusion. (Fun fact, George Lucas originally wanted a black actor to play Han Solo).
