Michelle Obama Says “Young People Are Knuckleheads” and Need Obamacare

A few nights ago, Michelle Obama appeared on The Tonight Show. She and host Jimmy Fallon mostly talked about life in the White House and her “Let’s Move” campaign, but she managed to throw in a little, er…Obamacare “plug” too…

Did FLOTUS just call young people stupid?

Obama captured 60% of the youth (ages 18 – 29) vote in 2012.

Some experts say Obama would have lost to Mitt Romney if it weren’t for those voters.

Way to bite the hands that feed, Michelle!

Maybe young people are smarter than she thinks…

In 2008, Obama received 66% of the youth vote. Fewer people in that age group went to the polls in 2012, which accounts for the 6% drop.

Only around 25% of Obamacare enrollees are in the 18-35 age group.

A December poll showed that Obama’s approval rating among Americans between the ages of 18-29 dropped from 67% to 45% in less than a year.  Only 41% of people in that age group approve of Obamacare.

Could it be that young people are paying attention and don’t want to be forced to purchase overpriced health “insurance” that they don’t need, and are disappointed in the leader they thought was going to bring them “hope and change”?

Needless to say, some young people weren’t too thrilled with being called “knuckleheads,” and others pointed out that FLOTUS should think about who she’s talking about. Some shared their thoughts on Twitter:
