“Merkel Must Go”: Thousands Protest Germany’s Migrant Policy

It’s obvious now that the tide has turned against multiculturalism in Germany.

It used to be that in Germany, you couldn’t criticize any leftist policy without being called a fascist, and you couldn’t criticize migrants without being called a racist. That’s clearly no longer the case in Germany, where there are now thousands of people openly protesting Chancellor Merkel’s open door migration policy.

Upwards of 5,000 people, some of them counter protesters, are expected to show up in Berlin this weekend. They’ve been seen waving flags (which is frowned upon by the ultra left in Germany) and holding signs that read “Merkel must go” and “The Queen of the Smugglers, Merkel Must Leave.” Though nationalist sentiments have been rising in Germany since the refugee crisis began, these protests have been spurred by 5 separate terror attacks that occurred this month.

Unlike previous anti-migrant protests, these people aren’t just representative of a tiny irate minority. Recent polls have shown that the majority of the German population doesn’t believe Angela Merkel can handle the migrant crisis.

According to a Yougov poll which asked over a thousand Germans “What is your attitude to Merkel’s statement ‘We can do it’ which she said several times in relation to the high number of refugees and the need to accept them in Germany?” 66% of Germans do not agree with her refugee policy.

That’s significantly higher than what polls showed in August of 2015, when 51% of the population disagreed with her refugee policy. It’s obvious now that the tide has turned against multiculturalism in Germany.
