Memorial Services Will Mark 25th Anniversary of Lockerbie Terror Attack

Memorial services will be held in the US and the Uk today, to mark the25th anniversary of Pan Am flight 103 being blown out of the sky over the small town of Lockerbie, Scotland.

Memorial services will be held in the US and the Uk today, to mark the 25th anniversary of Pan Am flight 103 being blown out of the sky over the small town of Lockerbie, Scotland.

Services will take place at the memorial cairn in Arlington National Cemetery and at Syracuse University New York. The university saw 35 of it’s students killed in the bombing, all of whom had been studying at it’s London campus.

In all 270 people died in the incident, no one on the plane survived and 11 people were killed on the ground.

Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, a Libyan nation was convicted of the atrocity. He was released from jail on compassionate grounds in 2009 and died of cancer at his home in Tripoli last year.
