Mainstream Media Dissects Trump’s Tweets With Scrutiny

Trump

According to the mainstream media, President Donald Trump is appearing to waver in his feelings toward Jeff Sessions. But it isn’t over Sessions tyrannical insistence on keeping the drug war alive. It seems to be the executive order travel ban and Twitter that is causing the strife, and the media is chomping at the bit to make this a story.

Several articles have already been written about this tweet alone, and somehow the media has decided it means Trump is upset with Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

The Washington Post then claims that Trump’s tweets will likely hurt, not help get his travel ban reinstated. And they cite another tweet from George Conway.

Even George Conway, a prominent lawyer who recently took himself out of the running to lead the Justice Department’s Civil Division and who is the husband of top Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway, posted on Twitter that the remarks might hurt the legal case. –The Washington Post

“These tweets may make some ppl feel better, but they certainly won’t help OSG get 5 votes in SCOTUS, which is what actually matters. Sad,” he wrote, using abbreviations for Office of Solicitor General and the Supreme Court.  But he later made it clear that he still strongly supports Donald Trump.

Donald Trump has been known to use Twitter as a way to release his feelings on any given issue, and a recent tweet,  he eludes to the fact that he’s simply trying to let the public know where he stands because the media is so boldly one-sided. Using all capital letters, he declared the FAKE MSM is the problem for trying to cut off his access to social media.

Many other media outlets are taking his tweets to mean that he’s discontented with Jeff Sessions, a man who was rewarded for his loyalty to Trump. Although Trump continually uses the term “Justice Department” without naming Sessions, once could jump to conclusions. It’s not like the mainstream media has even really given Trump any kind of reprieve anyway.

The discontent was on display on Monday in a series of stark early-morning postings on Twitter in which the president faulted his own Justice Department for its defense of his travel ban on visitors from certain predominantly Muslim countries. Mr. Trump accused Mr. Sessions’s department of devising a “politically correct” version of the ban — as if the president had nothing to do with it. –The New York Times

It looks like the media is poking around for a story with attempts to sow discord in the Trump administration. Imagine if they would have done the same thing to Barack Obama. Maybe he wouldn’t have rammed the horribly constructed and overly expensive Obamacare law down our throats.

Behind-the-scenes frustration would not be unprecedented in the Oval Office. Other presidents have become estranged from the Justice Department over time, notably President Bill Clinton, who bristled at Attorney General Janet Reno’s decisions to authorize investigations into him and his administration, among other things. But Mr. Trump’s tweets on Monday made his feelings evident for all to see and raised questions about how he is managing his own administration. –The New York Times

The New York Times did mention Clinton’s anger at Janet Reno, but somehow it all came back to how Trump isn’t managing his own administration. If anyone believes the media isn’t biased and full of propaganda, it’s willful ignorance.Trump is still a powerful politician and deserves the highest levels of scrutiny. But the same level of scrutiny over Barack Obama’s policies as they give to one of Trump’s tweets would have been nice as well.

But Trump’s tweets have provided us with laughs in the past, and sometimes the distraction is welcome. Let the man use Twitter. It’s entertaining and it keeps the mainstream media busy. The busier they are deciphering tweets from Trump, the less propaganda we all hear. The media uses Trump’s tweets as an excuse to distract more than he does at this point.
