Judge Rescues Little Amish Girl from Forced Chemotherapy

Twice now, Medina County, Ohio Judge John Lohn has blocked Akron Children’s Hospital from forcing a 10-year-old Amish girl to receive chemotherapy treatments for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

USA Today reports:

Judge John Lohn, in Medina County, said in his ruling Tuesday that not allowing the parents to make medical decisions for their daughter would take away their rights. He also said there is no guarantee that chemotherapy would be successful.

The parents stopped the treatments during a second round of chemotherapy after their daughter begged them to because the chemo was making her extremely sick. Instead, the little girl’s parents are opting to treat their daughter’s cancer with natural medicines at a local wellness center.

Chemotherapy has been shown to backfire, causing immune system damage and further potential cancerous growth. The judge is spot on in noting the hospital could in no way guarantee chemo treatments would have cured the girl anyway.

This case is a microcosm of a larger issue. It is staggering the extent to which the hospital in particular, and the system in general, is attempting to supersede the family’s personal and religious beliefs in this matter. The Amish community has taken great effort to extract itself from the poison of modern society, and it has arguably been better off for it.

Even as our government is attempting to take over as America’s primary caregiver, its alphabet agencies obviously have little-to-no vested interest in protecting any of us from cancer. Just as these agencies continue to assure us more industrial chemicals are “good” for us, the State that has allowed corporations to poison us for decades is now attempting to force admittedly dangerous medical treatment in the form of pharmaceutical chemicals on children regardless of parents rights or religious beliefs.

What the mainstream media and many self-serving cancer charities are not telling the American public is that we are currently facing a modern cancer epidemic that is reaching every facet of our nation, even the Amish. As The Daily Sheeple has reported before, the President’s Cancer Panel released a report in 2010 that an astounding 41% of Americans will get cancer sometime in their lifetimes. In the 26 year period from 1973 to 1999, childhood cancers rose 26% overall (acute lymphocytic leukemia 62%; brain 50%; bone and joint 40%; and kidney 14%). According to the Cancer Prevention Coalition, “childhood cancers remain their number one killer” aside from accidents.

Almost every American at this point knows someone who recovered from, is suffering with, or died because of cancer. It does not help that reputable-sounding organizations such as the U.S. National Cancer Institute have been caught manipulating the data to ‘make it look good’.

Children hardly ever got cancer just a few decades ago. Now it’s to the point that cancer video games are being created for children to inform them about, and help them through, the disease.

The trend of running for a cure — which the revolving door establishment overwhelmingly tells us must be pharmaceutical in nature — makes little sense. We should be working like mad to find out the cause. The U.S. government, and the corporations it is in bed with, would rather we kept our gaze fixed on their brand of ‘cure’ rather than to open our eyes and realize all this cancer cannot possibly be due simply to widescale genetic changes in such a short period of time.

In other words, this cancer epidemic is environmental.

The Cancer Prevention Coalition notes a multitude of studies show the widescale use of petrochemicals is killing people in this country:

Study after study points to the role of runaway industrial technologies, particularly those based on petrochemicals. The explosive growth of the petrochemical industry since the 1940s has far outpaced legislative and regulatory controls, producing a dizzying array of synthetic chemicals that have never been screened for human health effects: of the roughly 75,000 chemicals in use today, only some 3 percent have been tested for safety. For over fifty years, in other words, the American public has been unknowingly exposed to avoidable carcinogens from the moment of conception until death.

These chemicals are so prevalent in our environment at this point, even Amish communities may find it difficult to escape their negative effects. Again and again, pesticides have been linked to cancer; yet, in acts of infinite insanity, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is actually set to raise the allowable glyphosate limits a whopping 3,000% and the U.S. Department of Agriculture has just approved a second generation of GMO food that can withstand the known human carcinogen isoxaflutole (IFT).

All these corporations and the government that continues to side with them over the well being of its people have contributed to a massive culture of cancer; neither refuse to recognize their role in a massive epidemic that’s only growing worse by the day. Although no one is completely immune from cancer, the Amish have gone out of their way to steer clear of modern American society and that includes its medical technology. Regardless, the system should have no ultimate say in treatment decisions, particularly when they can make no guarantees whatsoever that they can cure anyone of anything.
