I’ve Spent A Lot of Time in Egypt…But I’ve Never Considered It Might Snow There

Thank God we didn’t book up for a quick Christmas break. That would have been two grand down the drain, I HATE the cold.

This time last year I was lounging by the pool with a drink in my hand reading what the hotel had planned for Christmas.

It was 27*C, about average for Egypt in December, though I have to say my other December holidays have seen the weather as high as 37*C.

We were seriously toying with the idea of getting a last minute deal and flying out , literally within the next 24 hours. I said no…sigh, we are doing the house up having moved from the city six months ago.

The place needs doing from the bottom up, or from the top down if you prefer, bathrooms, kitchen, carpets, decorating, the works. Even the garden offered no respite, after three months of hacking, pulling and burning we got a bulldozer in.

I digress.

It’s snowing.

In Egypt.

Snow. In Egypt.

I am rather shocked by this as you may have gathered. Here’s the proof.
