Iraqi Security Forces Under Multiple Attacks; 10 Dead, 20 Wounded

A prisoner on death row has escaped, 10 people have been killed and 20 more seriously injured in a series bombings and shootings across the Iraq today. The violence has targeted police officers and anti-al Qaeda militia.

A prisoner on death row has escaped, 10 people have been killed and 20 more seriously injured in a series bombings and shootings across Iraq today.  The violence has targeted police officers and anti-al Qaeda militia.

Mosul: a bombing and shooting have left two people dead – a policeman and a young child – and three  wounded.

Kirkuk:  two car bombs exploded near government headquarters, killing a policeman and wounding eight other people

Hawijah: A car bomb killed a Sahweh soldier.

Samarra: Just north of the city, militant gunmen killed 2 anti-al-Qaeda militiamen in a home-invasion style attack.

Tuz Khurmatu: A car bomb killed a policeman and wounded 6 other people. Meanwhile in the center of town, masked gunmen attacked a security checkpoint, killing two policemen and wounding two more.
