I Pity the Foo’ Who Doesn’t Buy Gold

If the price of gold approaching $1400 per ounce isn’t crazy enough for you, then maybe this interview with Mr. T will do the job.

Mr. T, of A-Team fame, is now a spokesperson for Cash America, a gold buyer that promises to pay top dollar for your gold chains and other precious jewelry.

According to Mr. T, he’s been a gold buyer since the late 70’s, when he purchased his first gold chain on lay-away, and his been a bug since then, regularly investing in the precious metals for a variety of reasons:

When I was little I used to adore gold, it was something special. And the Incas or the Mayans, they say gold was the sweat from the sun or tears. Gold has always been special. Gold candlesticks. Gold is special. Gold is one of the gifts the three wise men brought to Jesus – frankincense, mur and gold.

So I said, there’s something special about gold. So then I started, you know, I knew it was expensive, so I started planting things then. My mother always told me about planting your clops and eventually you’ll reap the rewards.

Even though gold is hitting record highs Mr. T says he’s not selling. He is, however, promoting that you sell your gold to Cash America to take advantage of the high prices, citing Cash America’s Gold Promise, which according to Mr. T, offers a fair way for you to sell your gold by simply mailing the company your jewelry and getting a quote for your goods in return.
