David Fenner, 38, broke into a Miami County home on Memorial Day – an act he surely regrets.

He suffered gunshots in both legs and his hand and remains a patient at Miami Valley Hospital after messing with the wrong family.

Monday morning, a woman called 911 to report a man trying to break into her home on Kessler-Frederick Road, reports Dayton Daily News.

“We’ve got a robber,” the caller said.  “I need you to get here fast…I’m upstairs with my kids.”

“It’s the guy that does all the Kessler-Frederick robberies,” she added.

Two other people called 911 to report hearing gunshots and people arguing.

“We’ve had some problems with people breaking in around here,” the second caller said.

“I heard two gunshots and then a man scream no, and a third gunshot then nothing,” the third caller said.

This was not Fenner’s first rodeo: He is known to law enforcement from previous thefts and burglaries dating back to the 1990s, and is reportedly a suspect in recent burglaries in the same neighborhood where he was shot.

Once he is released from the hospital, Fenner is expected to be booked into the Miami County Jail on suspicion of aggravated burglary and possession of criminal tools.
