HAHAHA: Trump Just Rick Rolled the Mainstream Media into Reporting Favorably on Him!

As my coworker Lily Dane said, “This election season is comedy gold.”

Regardless of whether or not you still believe in the bread and circuses dog and pony show that is our election process in this country, you have to admit, this may just be the most entertaining, downright hilarious election season in the history of the nation.

Basket of deplorables. Another 9/11 on 9/11. Colin Powell’s dirty laundry about greedy Hillary and Bill “d*cking bimbos”. A protester caught on tape loud and clear screaming “F*ck Hillary!” at her Greensboro rally yesterday. And that’s just in the last couple of days!

For better or for worse, the Internet and the speed of news and information has changed the political landscape forever. The veneer of polished respectability has been stripped away to reveal all of these people are just like everyone else, except that they’re starring in one giant political soap opera reality show.

To that end, because pretty much every mainstream news outlet that reports on Trump makes sure he comes off as the most racist, xenophobic, homophobic, corrupt gangster liar they can possibly make him out to be and he’s clever enough to know it — Donald Trump just got done tricking the mainstream media into reporting favorably on him.

What happened was, Trump announced a press conference and the media got the impression that he was finally going to officially address the Obama “birther” issue which they’ve been foaming at the mouth about recently as a way to pull public attention away from all the bizarreness coming out of the Hillary camp. (It’s rather silly too, considering Hillary Clinton is actually the original birther).

The media was gathered with live coverage. CNN had set all phasers to “stun” and were just crouched there like the Wicked Witch of the West’s flying monkeys, salivating at the chance to skewer Trump with their lower third all ready to go, “Trump set to address birther issue” (hehehe).

What Trump did instead was trot out a bunch of highly decorated veterans and Medal of Honor recipients who are pledging their support for him to talk for 20 minutes.

And the media. Is. Pissed.

Jake Tapper: “As these American heroes are, you know, people that we should all show uh reverence and respect. Obviously they are all greater men than Rick Astly, but it is hard to imagine this as anything other than a political Rick Roll. The idea being that we were told this was going to be Donald Trump addressing something that his top campaign advisers, many people in the Republican National Committee want him to address and clear up and then stop talking about, which is this lie that President Obama was not born in the United States… We were told he was going to do that, and instead they bring out a number of Medal of Honor recipients and heroes instead.”

HAHAHHAHAHAHA, continuing —

“It was very clever on one level, and on another level, it does speak to the integrity of the Trump campaign. They told us something was going to happen, and it is not happening.”

Aww, he even still tried to spin it against Trump like a good little lapdog with, “it does speak to the integrity of the Trump campaign…” (You mean like lying about health conditions? Oh wait, that’s Hillary.)

Trump just Rick Rolled the mainstream media.

Good for him.

At the very end he said he now believes Obama was born in the United States but pointed out that Hillary started the rumors in the first place (true), to which the MSM still immediately called him a racist in their headlines anyway, proving it really doesn’t matter what Trump says, they’re always going to attack him regardless because this whole election is being run like a giant reality TV show cartoon.

While I personally no longer put any of my faith or hope in the broken political system in this country and we all know what a bunch of presstitutes our mainstream media is, that right there was an impressive move.
