According to Duncan police, officers received a call at 9:53 a.m. about a reported shooting in the parking lot of Walmart at 3393 North 81 Highway in Duncan.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found three people, two men and a woman, shot and killed. Police told ABC affiliate KSWO in Lawton that the shooter is among the three people who were killed.
One man and the woman were found dead in a car, and the other man was found dead outside the car, police said.
A handgun was found at the scene, according to police. During a news conference, the Duncan police chief said several rounds were fired into the vehicle.
According to a report by KSWO ABC Channel 7 in Oklahoma: “Multiple witnesses have said the gunman shot two people in a vehicle and a civilian with a gun confronted him, causing the gunman to turn the gun on himself.”
Authorities said they believe this was an isolated incident.
Police said they are looking into a motive.
Yayo Varela, Jr. has been identified by family members as the shooter. Police have not released the names of his victims at this time.
