Gay Rights Activists Continue To Pillory Duck Dynasty Star Phil Robertson.

Gay rights activists from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLADD) are calling for the ‘re-education’ of Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson.

Not satisfied with the stars suspension they are demanding that he meet with homosexual families in order that he is ‘re-educated’ about their chosen lifestyles and values.

A spokesperson from the organization told The Wrap:

“We believe the next step is to use this as an opportunity for Phil to sit down with gay families in Louisiana and learn about their lives and the values they share,”

The suggestion that he should undergo some form of ‘re-education’ is clearly a sign that these people have no regard for the First Amendment which gives us ALL the right of free speech, regardless of who disagrees with it .

What you think of Phil Robertsons statements is unimportant. What is important is that preventing freedom of speech, and demanding that people be ‘re-educated’ shows the bigoted attitude of those that made the demand.

They are implying that Robertson has done something wrong, that he has no right to hold the opinion he has expressed and that he should be re-educated in order to change his opinion.

What if he declines their kind offer? Maybe re-education camps like those that exist in China, North Korea and a handful of other countries around the globe would get him to change his mind.

Can you imagine the outcry if a heterosexual had suggested re-education of homosexual men and women? That maybe attending meetings with men and women who are proud NOT to be gay might have a bearing on their views and opinions.

• Should all women who have had an abortion be forced to speak to families with young children to show them the error of their ways?
• Should all non-Christians should be forced to go to church services to show them their mistake?
• Should all people who stamp on spiders be forced to attend arachnid petting sessions to show them the eight legged critters cause no harm?

Gay rights activists should remember that Robertson at no point suggested the harming or ostracizing of gay individuals. He merely expressed his own opinion and his own understanding of Bible verse. He did not suggest they stop being gay, he just said he didn’t understand it.

I have news for the people from GLADD. Most heterosexuals don’t get it, Robertson is one of tens of millions who don’t get it, but because he has a high profile he has become a target for their wrath.

It’s about time these precious little busy bodies started to realize that they are not special, they are no better than anyone else, and they deserve no more consideration than the population at large.
