Will Former Governor Jesse Ventura Shatter the Left/Right Paradigm With a 2016 Presidential Run?

Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura is apparently considering a 2016 presidential run on the independent ticket. The news came during a stop at the Minnesota state capital.

Ventura was quoted as saying that the time is right for a independent candidate and that he might be that candidate.

Ventura returned from his winter home in Mexico last week, and during a stop Friday at the state Capitol, he floated a trial balloon for a White House bid.

He told reporters 2016 will be an “opportune moment” for an independent presidential candidate because no incumbent will be running and the public is fed up with the two major parties.

“If I were to decide — and I haven’t, and may not — I believe one issue would carry me to victory,” he said. “I would give the people of America their first opportunity to elect a president who doesn’t belong to a political party since George Washington.”

In addition to being an independent, Ventura said, the key to having a shot at winning is having the “ability to rise above the mainstream and get the press, which I have never had a problem doing. You guys like me, I guess.”

Over the last ten years the independent party has grown by leaps and bounds and it truly seems like the right time for a candidate not controlled by the establishment Democrats and Republicans.

If Ventura does decide to run he can expect an uphill battle with the corporate controlled media sure to throw him under the bus over his popular Conspiracy Theory TV Show as well as his support for alternative media heavyweights such as Alex Jones.

Regardless, Ventura is sure to resonate with millions of Americans who are sick of the controlled left right paradigm and instead are dying for a President not beholden to corporate and military industrial complex interests.

The 2016 Presidential election itself is gearing up to be a hard fought election with not only Ventura as a possible candidate. The likes of Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Rand Paul are also considering a run.
