Footage Released of Russian Helicopter Being Shot Down Over Syria

On July 8, a Russian Mi-35M helicopter (pictured above) engaged a group of insurgents who were advancing toward Palmyra, Syria. The helicopter crew was in the process of heading back to base after thwarting the advance, when it was attacked by what the Russian government claims was an American made TOW missile (which wouldn’t be the first time this ordnance has been used against Russian forces in Syria).

The helicopter was struck by the missile and fell to the earth, killing both of the pilots on board. Footage of the attack has since been released to the public:
