Flower Vendor’s Violent Arrest Proves We Live In A Police State

Because 52-year-old Juanita Mendez-Medrano decided to sell her flowers without a permit, the police decided violence was the solution. A widely circulated video of a police officer arresting a flower vendor in California is sparking outrage. The woman was violently arrested for selling flowers outside a graduation ceremony without first begging the government’s permission.

In a statement by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department detailing the incident, officers “contacted, warned, and cited” other vendors at the event for not operating with a permit. When officers contacted Mendez-Medrano, the sheriff’s office claims that she resisted, and was then arrested.

She resisted the citation they tried to give her, claiming she can freely sell her goods without first asking permission from the state. That’s all. It seems like Mendez-Medrano just wanted to be free to sell her flowers without begging permission from her master. This is everything wrong the government and the police in one story and it isn’t like these cases are few and far between either. Freedom is gone in the United States, and you’ve buried your head deep in the sand if you feel otherwise.

*This video was posted on Twitter and is violent in nature.  It may not be suitable for all viewers.

The police recounted their version of events in the statement.

“Unlike the other vendors, Ms. Mendez-Medrano refused to cooperate as necessary to allow our officer to issue her a citation,” the statement reads. “She refused to provide her name, and attempted to walk away. Our officer repeatedly told Ms. Mendez-Medrano why she was being detained, and that she could not go without being issued a citation. After giving several fake names, attempting to leave, and pushing the officer away, our officer attempted to arrest Ms. Mendez-Medrano for violating the city ordinance and obstructing justice.”

You mean, the woman dared to not consent to a citation (fine) for doing something that literally hurt exactly no one? Oh, the horror…

Peaceful people feel this arrest was not only unwarranted but overly aggressive as well. But others think she should have followed orders. “You follow directions and this will not happen,” a user named Jan West replied to a local CBS affiliate. This excuse for police brutality is suddenly beginning to sound a lot like “you shouldn’t have hidden a Jew. You should have followed the orders of the SS and not broken Nazi laws, then this will not happen.” And yes, it sounds exactly like that to free thinkers.

On Monday, in response to the video spreading across social media, the Riverside Sheriff’s Office said, “the video did not capture the other vendors cooperating with the citation process, nor did it capture our officer’s repeated efforts to convince Ms. Mendez-Medrano to do the same.” Apparently, that’s some kind of excuse. That’s like saying because others willingly accepted their yolks and chains, Mendez-Medrano should have well. Newsflash; some humans want to be free and won’t willingly submit to the tyrannical rule of a police state. They were called “patriots” back in 1773.

Kudos to Mendez-Medrano for standing up to the overbearing, oppressive, and tyrannical police state.
