Florida Man who drove van in Trump voter registration tent admits attack was premeditated

The man who drove his van into a Republican Party voter registration tent in Florida reportedly did not like President Trump and told deputies that “someone had to take a stand.”

An arrest report released Tuesday showed that 27-year-old Gregory Timm had said he noticed the voter tent on his way into the Walmart in Jacksonville and headed there, after going into the store on Saturday.

Six volunteers were working in the tent at the time of the incident and Timm even showed deputies video of himself speaking with some of them before he deliberately rammed his van through, knocking over tables and chairs. Another video he shot apparently ended just as the vehicle struck the tent. Timm was reportedly “upset” that it stopped before what he called “the good part,” according to the report.

Timm appeared in court Sunday and was ordered held on a half a million dollars bond.

A redacted version of the report was posted on social media by the Republican Party of Duval County with a statement from Chairman Dean Black calling on the “national media begin to act responsibly” in reporting the facts.

“It is high time that the national media begin to act responsibly in this case and call this deranged criminal’s attack what has been clear: An obvious assault motivated by blind rage toward President Trump,” Duval County GOP Chairman Dean Black said in a statement accompanying the report.

With the release of a revised police report, the national media now has no place to hide. They must now cover this story honestly or abandon all pretenses of integrity.”

President Trump, GOP Florida Senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott commented on the attack on Twitter. The president’s son, Donald Trump Jr. also demanded to know why the media chose to be silent.

Where is the outraged media? Why are they so silent on this? This would be the number one story in the world right now if it was a Trump supporter doing it to a group of liberals.

Speaking with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Black noted that the Republican Party “is apparently the only party of law and order in this country,” as he denounced the media’s portrayal of what took place in Florida and in response to liberal violence.

“That is a partisan attack. What else can you call it?” he said of Timm’s attack on “The Ingraham Angle” Tuesday. “You would have to believe he has some blinding hatred of chairs, tents, and tables to believe otherwise.”
