Epic Snowstorm To Hit NorthEast US

Whopping winter storm marching in Sandy’s path.

The north east coast of the US is bracing itself for a massive snow storm that already has caused hundreds of flight cancellations.

The storm is expected to bring chaos  to parts of New England as it brings blizzards in from the Great Lakes. Many schools in the Boston area have already closed prior to the storm hitting, and it’s expected to peak on Saturday morning east of Cape Cod.

The National Weather Service  have said that the coming together of two weather systems, from the polar and the sub-tropical jet streams could well produce a “potentially historic” storm. Hurricane strength gusts of wind are expected to cause deep drifting in some areas.

New Yorkers have been advised to stock up on basic essentials and shops and stores were already reported to be running out of some items.

The storm is expected to deliver a foot of snow in the affected areas and New York is standing by with an army of snow plows and 250,000 tons of salt.
