Egypt: More Than 700 Dead In 72 Hours of Violence

Dozens of people were killed on Friday across Egypt as protesters loyal to the ousted President Mohammed Morsi clashed with security forces.

More than 80 people have died, the majority of them in Cairo, after the Muslim brotherhood called for a ‘Day of Anger’. This brings the total number of deaths to more than 700 in the last 72 hours.

The protesters were moved from their camps in Tahrir Square on Wednesday, and now the Tawheed mosque in Ramses Square just a short distance away has become the focal point for the protests.

The Muslim Brotherhood party of the ousted President Morsi has said there will be a week of daily rallies across the country.
