“Don’t f*cking shoot!” Parrot’s “Testimony” Contributed to Murder Conviction (Video)

In May 2015, Martin Duram was fatally shot in his Ensley Township, Michigan, home. His wife, Glenna, was found next to him with a gun shot wound to the head.

Police initially thought the Durams were both victims, but Glenna became a suspect, in part based on the “testimony” of a very unusual witness: Martin’s pet parrot, Bud.

Martin Duram’s ex-wife, Christina Keller, took ownership of Bud after the man’s death. Keller said that after the murder, Bud, repeated “don’t (expletive) shoot” in Martin Duram’s voice.

Last year, video of Bud mimicking what sure sounds like an argument and a murder was released:

On Wednesday, a Newaygo County jury deliberated about eight hours before finding 49-year-old Duram guilty of killing her 46-year-old husband. Prosecutors say Glenna Duram’s head wound was a suicide attempt, according to the Associated Press.

Duram has said she has no memory of the day her husband died or the three suicide notes she wrote that were found at the scene.

She is due to be sentenced Aug. 28 on the murder and a felony firearm charge.
