Democrat Al Green Must Really Want President Mike Pence

Al Green, a House Democrat, has plans to draft articles of impeachment today as a means to oust President Donald Trump. The Texas Representative, who was the first House Democrat to call for the President’s impeachment on the House floor last month, plans to move forward with the next legislative step at a Wednesday news conference on Capitol Hill.

Green is claiming Donald Trump continues to “obstruct justice” when it comes to getting to the bottom of the “Russian hacking” narrative.  On the day before James Comey is set to testify about what he knows with regards to Russia’s involvement in Donald Trump’s election, Green will be drafting impeachment papers. He must really want to see a president Mike Pence since that’s what an impeachment of Donald Trump would accomplish. Green says that the president should be forced from office for firing FBI Director James Comey in the middle of the bureau’s ongoing Russia investigation.

Comey will testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday. The former FBI chief is expected to recount his interactions with Trump over the last several months, including an alleged request by the president that Comey end an investigation into Michael Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser.

In a statement Tuesday evening, Green said he literally has no desire to hear what Comey says under oath first, and that he’ll proceed either way.  “This will continue to be obstruction of justice regardless of testimony given by Mr. James Comey. This will remain obstruction of justice regardless of the findings of any investigation.” Basically, regardless of if Trump is vindicated and is shown to have been truthful about his dealing with Russia, he’s still going to have impeachment papers filed against him, according to Green. Although Comey’s close friend did mention that Donald Trump should be “scared” of Comey’s testimony until the former FBI director actually shows up and testifies, it’s all speculation, media hype, and ginning up support for Green from far leftists.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, appearing on ABC’s The View on Monday, didn’t seem to want to talk about impeachment that much. “When that word comes up I always say to my colleagues in the Congress, my constituents, and people across the country what I said before: anything you do has to be based on data, evidence, facts,” Pelosi said. “So you can speculate but it’s got to be the law and the facts and how they match up.”  But Green didn’t run his impeachment plan by the House Minority Leader. He went off on his own. That’s a bad sign. Democrats don’t care for those who don’t line up rank and file.

But Green doesn’t seem to care much. During his May speech on the House floor, Green noted “this is about my position. This is about what I believe. And this is where I stand. I will not be moved. The President must be impeached.” He also explained that this was the beginning of the process, “For those who do not know, impeachment does not mean that the President would be found guilty. It simply means that the House of Representatives will bring charges against the President. It’s similar to an indictment but not quite the same thing.”

The Texas Democrat revealed that after his public call for impeachment he received threatening voicemails and messages and told CNN the United States Capitol Police was investigating them.

It’s like Democrats want to see a president Mike Pence.  Because this is how you get a President Mike Pence.
