Cheney’s daughter says Pelosi should be proud of torture

Speaking to Fox News on Tuesday, Dick Cheney’s daughter made some alarming comments in response to Nancy Pelosi’s public condemnation of the interrogation tactics that were used by the Bush administration.

It is important to mention that the Obama administration which Pelosi works for is guilty of the same torture, but the comments that her criticism provoked from members of Dick Cheney’s family were very revealing.

In her interview with Fox News Liz Cheney said that, “Mrs. Pelosi is somebody who was briefed on the program. She forgot she was briefed on the program, later to admit it,” Liz Cheney remarked. “When I heard those comments yesterday, I was reminded of something that Margaret Thatcher once said about one of her political opponents……You know, Mrs. Pelosi’s problem is that her spine doesn’t seem to reach her brain.”

In a later discussion on the topic of torture, during the same interview, Liz Cheney also defending water boarding specifically, saying that, “The decision was made, it was absolutely the right decision, and certainly I hope that future presidents would make the decision again that you’ve got to waterboard somebody. Because it means that you’re going to get information to save lives and prevent attacks.”

Cheney also said that her father and her entire family is proud of the torture program that the Bush administration oversaw.

Cheney is the elder daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney and Second Lady Lynne Cheney. She held several positions in the U.S. State Department during the George W. Bush administration. She has been politically active on behalf of the Republican Party and is a co-founder of Keep America Safe. She was briefly a candidate United States Senate in Wyoming, challenging the three-term incumbent Mike Enzi, before dropping out of the race
