Turkish police stormed Ankara after the Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov was shot dead at an art gallery right as he was about to give a speech.

It’s being reported that the gunman was yelling”Allahu Akbar (God is Great). We die in Aleppo, you die here!” just before he shot Karlov at close range, killing him.

The shooting was caught on tape by journalists covering the exhibition.

Here is clearer video of the moments afterward:

The shooter, identified as 22-year-old Mevlüt Mert Altıntaş, also yelled, “I will not leave here without dying!” Local reports say he was a Turkish policeman. He has reportedly been “neutralized” and a bloody, censored picture of his body was also posted to social media.

Right afterward, the American government was reporting that a “security event” was happening at their Turkish embassy nearby as well.
