British Teen Arrested for Trying to Assassinate Donald Trump
He later revealed that he has been living in the US for a year and a half, and had been planning to assassinate Trump for at least a year.
It’s been pointed out many times throughout Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. There’s a really good chance that at some point, somebody is going to kill the candidate, or at least try to. After being constantly compared to Hitler by his rivals and the mainstream media, many Americans feel that if Donald Trump was assassinated, it would be totally justified. With that kind of prevailing attitude, it’s surprising that it hasn’t happened sooner.
On Saturday a man was arrested at a Trump rally in Las Vegas, and it was recently revealed by federal authorities that he was arrested for making the first serious attempt on Trump’s life. The assassin in question is a 19-year-old British man by the name of Michael Steven Sandford.
Sandford approached a Las Vegas police officer, and said that he wanted to get closer to Trump for an autograph. That’s when he made a failed attempt to grab the officer’s pistol, which led to his arrest. He later revealed that he had been living in the US for a year and a half, and had been planning to assassinate Trump for at least a year. He told the Secret Service that he took this opportunity to act because “he finally felt confident about trying it,” and stated that he would do it again if he could.
Sandford added that he was convinced he would die in the assassination attempt. He admitted to taking shooting lessons at a Las Vegas shooting range the day before, which was his first time using a firearm. His precise motivations for the attack, as well as his state of mind have yet to be revealed, and he is currently being charged with an attempt to commit violence on restricted ground.
