An as yet un-named United Nations employee has died in hospital in Germany.
The male medic was infected in Liberia and was flown to Germany last Thursday according to Reuters.
The man, who was transported to Germany in a modified Gulfstream jet was treated at the St Georg hospital in Leipzig.
“Despite intensive medical measures and maximum efforts by the medical team, the 56-year-old UN employee succumbed to the serious infectious disease,” a statement from St Georg hospital said. (source)
Another Ebola patient is being treated in Frankfurt. One Ebola patient has recovered and was released from a hospital in Hamburg after spending five weeks in hospital.
