A commercial jet carrying 136 people went down in the St. Johns River near Naval Air Station Jacksonville on Friday.
NAS Jacksonville said a Boeing 737 slid off of a runway into the St. Johns River at 9:40 p.m. ET. A spokesperson from the station said that the plane appears to have skidded off the airport runway while trying to land and ended up in the river.
There were no reports of any deaths, sources said.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the plane was not submerged and everyone is accounted for.
