Breaking News: “Operation Freedom” is underway in Venezuela

Published on

Venezuela’s opposition leader Juan Guaido has announced the beginning of the final phase of “Operation Freedom” to topple President Nicolas Maduro.

Reuters Venezuela tweeted that the president of Colombia, Iván Duque Márquez, had called for the people and military of Venezuela to join Juan Guaido to seek freedom and reconstruction through the removal of Nicolas Maduros.

Jair Bolsonaro, who just recently took the reins from the former socialist government in Brazil also tweeted his support of Guaido.

Venezuela banned private gun ownership in 2012 which is why Juan Guaidó needs to have the army on his side.

Amnesty International estimates that more than 8,200 people died in extrajudicial killings in Venezuela between 2015 and 2017.

Reports on Twitter are coming in that Maduros forces are leaving the streets refusing to engage with protestors. And at least one political prisoner as been released.
