Breaking: FBI Is Re-Opening Clinton Email Server Investigation – ANOTHER Update!

Well, well, well…take a look at this, from NBC:

The FBI will re-open its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, bureau director James Comey said in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday.

“In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation … I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation,” he wrote.

Here’s the letter:

The language in the FBI letter to Congress makes it clear that new evidence has been discovered and will be reviewed — meaning FBI agents will read these emails. NBC reports that it is “…unusual for the FBI to tell Congress it is looking over newly discovered evidence in a criminal inquiry that was otherwise closed.”

Or, perhaps this is the reason the FBI is taking this action…

Reopening lets the FBI dodge every question with “can’t comment on an open investigation,” which is probably the point.

We are two weeks away from the end of the ridiculous circus that is this (s)election.

What kind if impact will a new investigation have (if any)? Clinton supporters certainly seem to defend her no matter what, and some believe she’s long been the Chosen One.

UPDATE, from Zero Hedge‎:

As cited by CNBC, NBC’s Pete Williams provides some much needed color, and says there doesn’t appear to be that anyone intentionally withheld evidence or emails in the Clinton investigation; they found new emails after coming across a device in the course of an unrelated investigation and while looking at that device, that’s what led them to the new emails. Williams adds that this is not coming out after Russian hacking or from the Podesta leaks.

In other words, the FBI is now probing what is on the device and what are the emails on it.

Another update, from The New York Times:

Emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server were found after the F.B.I. seized electronic devices once shared by Anthony D. Weiner and his estranged wife, Huma Abedin, a top aide to Mrs. Clinton, federal law enforcement officials said Friday.

The F.B.I. is investigating illicit text messages that Mr. Weiner, a former Democratic congressman from New York, sent to a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina. The bureau told Congress on Friday that it had uncovered new emails related to the Clinton case — one federal official said they numbered in the thousands — potentially reigniting an issue that has weighed on the presidential campaign and offering a lifeline to Donald J. Trump less than two weeks before the election.
