Boston Police Are A Little More P*$$ed Than Usual Today

Trackers are to be fitted on police patrol vehicles that will monitor in real time where the cars, and therefore where the officers, are.

Police officers in Boston are a little more pissed off than usual today.

Though they are completely happy and comfortable with the thought of monitoring the population at large with GPS tracking devices and the like, they are less happy when it is they who will be tracked.

Trackers are to be fitted on police patrol vehicles that will monitor in real time where the cars, and therefore where the officers are.

A spokesperson for ACLU, (American Civil Liberties Union) said:

“Concerned officers at the Boston Police Department are exactly right when they warn about the sensitivity of this information, As these anonymous officers and their union official argue, tracking someone’s location as they go about their day-to-day life is incredibly invasive.”

One officer, speaking off the record said:

“No one likes it. Who wants to be followed all over the place?”

That’s one sentiment we can all agree with.
