“Blood moon”: Rare Total Lunar Eclipse Caught on Video

SONY DSC

For those not lucky enough to see the full lunar eclipse last night, you can see the Nasa Video here. The first total lunar eclipse in two and a half years is taking place on April 15th.

The rare event was visible over much of North America on Tuesday as the Earth’s shadow falls across the moon. It will change color from bright orange to a blood red and brown depending on local weather conditions.

Check out the 20 minute mark for a stunning view of the orange moon. The 30 minute mark gives a close up worth seeing.
