Biden to the Person Holding His Teleprompter: “Stop moving that…”

Well, for all of his faults, at least the increasingly ditzy Vice President Joe Biden doesn’t try to act as though he is naturally eloquent. He recently stopped a speech to tell the person holding his teleprompter:

“Stop moving that, that, that … you know — what’s this thing called?  You know, a teleprompter.”

Biden’s struggle with reading from the teleprompter (or speaking in general) is only surpassed by our struggle when we have to watch him do so. Add this to the growing list of public appearances that makes us wonder about the possibility of some sort of dementia.  Don’t forget, if you think Biden is embarrassing now, this is the man who recently said “there’s no obvious reason for me why I think I should not run” for President of the United States in 2016.

Don’t you miss the days of great orators, when speeches were actually speeches, and required a bit more from the speaker than the simple ability to read aloud?
