Austria Pulls Its UN Contingent Out Of The Golan Heights

Austria joins Canada,Croatia and Japan In pulling its peacekeeping force out of the Golan Heights…makes you wonder what they know.

I had no Idea that countries could just decide that a UN peacekeeping mission is too dangerous for their military personnel and could withdraw them at will. I knew that civilian staff could be pulled out, but military staff…no, that confuses me. These men and women are trained for conflict and combat.

It shocked me even more to find out that Croatia, Canada and Japan have already left the only functioning border crossing between Syria and Israel. With Austria joining them only India and the Philippines have troops left in the Golan Heights.

I wonder if they know something that the Indians and Filipinos don’t?
