According to RT, Anonymous’ claim is based on a number of recent NASA discoveries coupled with comments made by one of the agency’s spokesmen during a congressional hearing titled “Advances in the Search for Life,” in April.

Anonymous’ announcement could have something to do with scientists inability to hide alien life from the public much longer (as more experience abduction scenarios) and scientists announcements on Twitter which use the phrase “are we alone?” Professor Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator for the Science Mission Directorate, told the hearing that NASA’s recent advances, such as the discovery of hydrogen in Saturn’s moon Enceladus and the Hubble team’s promising results from the oceans of Jupiter’s moon, Europa, are promising signs that we’re closer than ever to discovering evidence of alien life.

“Taking into account all of the different activities and missions that are specifically searching for evidence of alien life, we are on the verge of making one of the most profound, unprecedented, discoveries in history,” said Zurbuchen during the hearing of the Committee on American Science, Space, and Technology. But does that mean that NASA will be announcing to the public that alien life exists? Anonymous seems to think it does. In their video on the issue, Anonymous goes on to cite several other alien-friendly comments made by astronauts and space exploration enthusiasts in the past, as well as various alien and UFO “sightings” as evidence that “something is going on in the skies above.”
NASA has even found evidence of another potential solar system which could be the home to extraterrestrial life. A collection of planets orbiting around a single a star located just 39 light years from Earth, has three planets firmly within the “inhabitable zone;” meaning the distance from the star they orbit makes the planets’ temperatures conducive to supporting life.
Are we alone? Many people claim to have evidence that alien life has visited Earth. Many claim aliens are among us now. The government isn’t getting freer with information, but does that mean NASA will soon announce all these “conspiracy theorists” were right? Time will tell.
