ALT FACTS: In Which The New York Times Becomes A Democratic Super PAC

The Times’ tweets urged users to contact GOP lawmakers ahead of key votes on the Republican tax bill, and included contact information for half a dozen legislators.

This week’s Alternative Facts discussed The New York Times editorial board’s seizure of the @nytopinion handle Thursday, from which they advocated against passage of the Republican tax reform plan.

Alt Facts also discussed former NBC anchor Matt Lauer’s stunning fall from his perch at the network’s morning show, where he was a mainstay of programming for over two decades.

The Times’ tweets urged users to contact GOP lawmakers ahead of key votes on the Republican tax bill, and included contact information for half a dozen legislators.

“It was really jarring to see a New York Times account basically act like a Democratic super pac,” The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Pentagon correspondent Saagar Enjeti said.

“I don’t think that helps the Times’ brand whatsoever with the president or with the American people,” he added.
