Most people have absolutely no idea that the Earth barely missed being fried by a massive EMP burst from the sun in 2012, in 2013 and just last month.  If any of those storms would have directly hit us, the result would have been catastrophic.  Electrical transformers would have burst into flames, power grids would have gone down and much of our technology would have been fried.  In essence, life as we know it would have ceased to exist – at least for a time.  These kinds of solar storms have hit the Earth many times before, and experts tell us that it is inevitable that it will happen again.  The most famous one happened in 1859, and was known as the Carrington Event.  But other than the telegraph, humanity had very little dependence on technology at the time.  If another Carrington Event happened today, it would be a complete and utter nightmare.  A study by Lloyd’s of London has concluded that it would have taken a $2,600,000,000,000 chunk out of the global economy, and it would take up to a decade to repair the damage.  Unfortunately, scientists insist that it is going to happen at some point.  The only question is when.

Just this week, the near miss of 2012 is suddenly making headlines all over the globe.  The following is from a recent Reuters report

Fierce solar blasts that could have badly damaged electrical grids and disabled satellites in space narrowly missed Earth in 2012, U.S. researchers said on Wednesday.

The bursts would have wreaked havoc on the Earth’s magnetic field, matching the severity of the 1859 Carrington event, the largest solar magnetic storm ever reported on the planet. That blast knocked out the telegraph system across the United States, according to University of California, Berkeley research physicist Janet Luhmann.

The two bursts that the Reuters article is referring to happened very closely to one another, and the scientists that study these things say that it could have taken a decade to recover from such a catastrophe…

“Had [the latest storm] hit Earth, it probably would have been like the big one in 1859, but the effect today, with our modern technologies, would have been tremendous,” said Janet Luhmann, who is part of the STEREO (Solar Terrestrial Observatory) team and based at UC Berkeley’s Space Sciences Laboratory.

Luhmann and physicist Ying Liu of China’s State Key Laboratory of Space Weather led a team in analysing the magnetic storm, which was detected by NASA’s STEREO A spacecraft and published their results in Nature Communications.

“An extreme space weather storm – a solar superstorm – is a low-probability, high-consequence event that poses severe threats to critical infrastructures of the modern society,” warned Liu.

“The cost of an extreme space weather event, if it hits Earth, could reach trillions of dollars with a potential recovery time of 4-10 years. Therefore, it is paramount to the security and economic interest of the modern society to understand solar superstorms.”

But this is not the only near miss that we have had in recent years.

In fact, there was another harrowing near miss in 2013

The earth barely missed taking a massive solar punch in the teeth two weeks ago, an “electromagnetic pulse” so big that it could have knocked out power, cars and iPhones throughout the United States.

Two EMP experts told Secrets that the EMP flashed through earth’s typical orbit around the sun about two weeks before the planet got there.

“The world escaped an EMP catastrophe,” said Henry Cooper, who led strategic arms negotiations with the Soviet Union under President Reagan, and who now heads High Frontier, a group pushing for missile defense.

“There had been a near miss about two weeks ago, a Carrington-class coronal mass ejection crossed the orbit of the Earth and basically just missed us,” said Peter Vincent Pry, who served on the Congressional EMP Threat Commission from 2001-2008.

And very few people have heard of it, but we had another one just last month

A huge magnetic filament shot out of the sun Monday, sending shockwaves racing at 1.7 million miles per hour and a brief roar of static through shortwave radios across the planet. And with a geomagnetic storm causing Northern Lights to dance across the Canadian border and into North America, the sun is clearly acting up.

According to a report on Spaceweather.com, Monday’s massive blast shot off the sun and into space, away from our planet, so it didn’t have the same effect on radio signals, power grids and communication satellites that an Earth-facing eruption would have.

So what is going to happen when one of these things finally hits us?

Well, basically it will be a technological Armageddon.  The following is a brief excerpt from one of my previous articles

An electromagnetic pulse can range from a minor inconvenience to a civilization-killing event.  It just depends on how powerful it is.  But in the worst case scenario, we could be facing a situation where our electrical grids have been fried, there is no heat for our homes, our computers don’t work, the Internet does not work, our cell phones do not work, there are no more banking records, nobody can use credit cards anymore, hospitals are unable to function, nobody can pump gas, and supermarkets cannot operate because there is no power and no refrigeration.  Basically, we would witness the complete and total collapse of the economy.  According to a government commission that looked into these things, approximately two-thirds of the U.S. population would die from starvation, disease and societal chaos within one year of a massive EMP attack.  It would be a disaster unlike anything we have ever seen before in U.S. history.

Without any electrical power, our society would descend into a state of chaos very rapidly.  The following is an excerpt from an article by Mac Slavo that explains some of the things that we would be likely to see in the immediate aftermath of such an event…

The first 24 – 48 hours after such an occurrence will lead to confusion among the general population as traditional news acquisition sources like television, radio and cell phone networks will be non-functional.

Within a matter of days, once people realize the power might not be coming back on and grocery store shelves start emptying, the entire system will begin to delve into chaos.

Within 30 days a mass die off will have begun as food supplies dwindle, looters and gangs turn to violent extremes, medicine can’t be restocked and water pump stations fail.

Today, our lives have been made very comfortable by technology.

But that technology could be stripped away from us in a single moment.

We should be thankful for the good things that we have, and we should not take for granted that we will always have them.

All it would take is one giant burst from the sun, and everything would change.

  1. dead transmission line towers make GREAT solar chimneys, so do small south facing valleys with a nice incline. Solar power doesn’t need solar panels folks, it just need sheet metal tubes (squares OK too) going up over a hundred feet, LOTS of heat power in sunlight. Remember, such structures need generators spinning in them, once the gasoline runs out, generators will be easy to find. BTW, we DONT need full electrical to survive, just water pumping and a local ice house that delivers.

    1. Yeah…you COULD about…LAST YEAR this time. The awesome pResident of the USA however, had our ‘Space Fence’ taken down then. He has, also, slashed our military budget….to save money.
OooooKaaayy? While he and Micheal stay in $8500.00 a night hotels….. Great guy, huh?

No. No one will see it coming…..

      1. If that is the case it is not something a sane person would do. I guess screwing over Ukraine is a high priority.

        1. see….I, myself, KNOW that the clone of obramma is NOT sane. And the smarter he THINKS he is, The DUMBER he REALLY is…..HE is A SPY…a double agent, so to speak…

Yes, he is doing just as he was programmed….he was tempted and could NOT resist.
          My HERO, DID resist…

Jesus was tempted of the devil in the wilderness. Jesus fasted forty days and forty nights. You can imagine just how hungry Jesus was after fasting these forty days and forty nights. The tempter, who is the devil, went to Jesus and said if you are the son of God, make these stones become bread. The devil thought he for sure had Jesus stumped on this one. He thought Jesus would be hungry enough to just about do anything at this point. And if you think about it for a minute, sometimes when we are at our lowest points in life, the devil will come along and offer us some kind of sin or unrighteousness in hopes of seeing us lose integrity with God and fall from grace. God allows us all to be tempted and tried just as Jesus had to be. Jesus set forth an example for us to see and gave us the answer to be able to talk back to the devil during the hour of temptation. Always use bible scripture and quote back the laws of God to the devil when he tries to persuade you to commit sin.

For example, he the devil says to you, just look at how pretty your neighbor’s wife is. Would you not like to be with her just one time, for if it was just one time, you have a good chance of no one ever finding out about it, not even your own wife. You should answer back and say: But it is written, thou shall not commit adultery……

Jesus said to the tempter, who is the devil, it is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. In other words, Jesus said I love the laws of God more than my own life and those things that will sustain my own life. Jesus had been commanded to go through these temptations so that all that come after him will know and understand how greatly he endured temptations. Men and women, however, will never be tempted as greatly as Jesus was. Jesus paved the way for us and in all he did left us with lessons to follow, but without the great pain and sorrow that he had to endure as he walked upon the earth. Although many times we do feel as though our burdens, trials and temptations are just to hard to carry, Jesus promised us, there would never be more put upon us than we could bear, and in humbleness and on bended knee to come back to the feet of Jesus for his mercies endure forever toward us.

The devil had another trick up his sleeve. He took Jesus into the holy city and sat him on a pinnacle of the temple. The devil said to Jesus, if you truly are the Son of God, get yourself down from there since it is written that God’s angels will take care of you and possibly catch you in their hands and keep your feet from even slipping and running into the stones on your way down.

Jesus then said to the devil once again, it is written thou shall not tempt the Lord thy God. Even though Jesus knew he had the power to do just as the devil was asking him to do, he did not intend to misuse this power just to prove to the devil that he was indeed the Son of God. God had not given him the order to do this, therefore, he would not.

So the devil then tried something else with Jesus. Every time the devil tries to get us to do something wrong and we don’t follow after his lead, he will think up another scheme to try and get us to sin against God. Now this time, the devil took Jesus up into a very, very high mountain and he said, “look at this world, look at all the kingdoms in this world and how glorious they are.” “I will give you all this if you will only fall down now and worship me instead of the Father in Heaven.” Jesus knew all these things already belonged to him and that the devil actually had no right or was not even in charge to give him all the kingdoms of the world. All the kingdoms of this world already belonged to Jesus, but the devil is so “stupid,” he thought he could convince Jesus that the entire world belonged solely to him and that Jesus would believe him enough to fall down and worship him (the devil) instead of God, the Father in Heaven.

Jesus once again answered the devil and said, the commandment of God is thou shall worship the Lord thy God, and him only shall thou serve. Finally, the devil gives up on Jesus, and left him.

After these good works of Jesus was manifested before God the Father in heaven, the angels came and ministered to Jesus. With this, we should realize that there are people who try to worship both of these Gods, the Father in Heaven and the Devil. But Jesus is telling us, this is impossible; because if we are indeed worshiping the Father in Heaven, there is no way we are going to follow the lead of the devil.

The lesson we can learn from this story of Jesus is that the devil will try many, many ways to get us to turn from the righteousness of God and follow him down the pathway to an everlasting fiery furnace of hell. The devil is sly and intelligent, but he cannot outsmart a true worshiper of God, the Father in Heaven.

After awhile, the devil will stop tempting and bothering us. He will leave us for a season. He will be back to tempt us again, however, after we have done the good will of the Father in heaven, let us look forward to the angels who will come and minister to us and comfort us just the same as they did Jesus in the wilderness where he was tempted of the devil for forty days and forty nights.

Those who worship the devil do not receive ministering and comfort from the angels in heaven. They have to seek after the things the devil has to offer them such as a quick fix on some kind of a drug or drinks of alcohol or whatever else the devil can present to them as comforters.

Guestto the student 1. the devil was tempting jesus to eat something when he was not suppose to he was hungry from fasting for so long that the devil thought he could trick him into turning rocks into bread not for the fact of him being able to for the fact that the devil thought he could trick him because he is the master of trickery and deceiving it wasnt a SIN to turn it into bread! the devil told God he can make any man turn there back on him! this is a case were god told jesus to go fast and the devil tried messy with his head when he was at a weak point! 2. Jesus is the king of the world in the resurrection! he is the king of the heavens now! why would you care to own something that somebody messed up when you can have something that is perfect later on? say somebody messed up some cookies would you want a bad batch of cookies or wait for a new batch of perfect cookies?

          reply

Guestthe 2nd part i left off that makes more sense if you have a large bowl of cookie dough you split the dough apart to make 2 trays full say one gets salt poured on them(SIN) and the other batch is pure wouldnt you want the good batch? or a salty bad batch? jesus is gonna get the land regardless he gets the land in a perfect state he gets perfect good hearted people why would he want a evil land that kill and hurt each other and sin!

StudentI disagree with your interpretation for a few different reasons. 1. Jesus turning rocks into bread is disanalogous with the temptation to sin example. Turning rocks into bread is no more of a sin than turning water into wine. Rather, it makes more sense that Jesus would have replied to the devil in this manner because his fast had not ended until he left the wilderness and that the devil had made this request before the end of it. 2. You assert that the devil is “stupid”, but if this was so, man would not have endured several thousand years of sin and temptation. Rather, it makes more sense that Jesus does not rule over the kingdoms in the sense that he imposes his will onto others. Instead, this temptation would be to allow the human presence of Jesus to rule over kingdoms with all peoples having knowledge of His ruling power and willfully obey, led in by deception of the devil. Not even God, King of Kings has this power at this point in time, as people deny God’s very existence.
