ABC News Suspends Brian Ross After On-Air Fake News Report About Michael Flynn That Caused Stock Market Panic

In a stunning admission of guilt, ABC news announced Saturday that it was suspending investigative reporter Brian Ross for four weeks after he aired a fake news report about embattled former national security adviser Michael Flynn that caused a sharp sell-off in the stock market and was spread like wildfire by liberal journalists throughout the media who were desperate to believe the disinformation.

“We deeply regret and apologize for the serious error we made yesterday. The reporting conveyed by Brian Ross during the special report had not been fully vetted through our editorial standards process,” ABC claimed in a statement released to the media.

“As a result of our continued reporting over the next several hours ultimately we determined the information was wrong and we corrected the mistake on air and online.”

That’s right, according to the statement, this wasn’t a purposeful attempt at spreading disinformation to the American people (many who will never even see that the story was fake news) but rather an honest mistake made by a veteran reporter who was simply given incorrect information by a trusted source.

“It is vital we get the story right and retain the trust we have built with our audience, these are our core principles,” the statement continued. “We fell far short of that yesterday.”

As The Daily Sheeple reported yesterday, “On Friday, ABC’s Brian Ross got the facts completely wrong in his panic-inducing bombshell report on former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.”

“Ross initially reported at 11:00 a.m. EST that a confidant told him Michael Flynn is “prepared to testify that President Trump, as a candidate, Donald Trump, ordered him — directed him to make contact with the Russians which contradicts all that Donald Trump has said to this point.”

Predictably, the entire media establishment went crazy, with the original tweet that included the report from Ross being retweeted over 25,000 times, including by many “prominent” journalists. The reaction was so swift that the stock market plunged more than 350 points.

The original Ross report claimed that Trump had ordered Michael Flynn to speak to the Russians when he was a candidate for president. If true, this would be contrary to what the president has publicly claimed and would indeed be a bombshell.

In reality, Trump had actually asked Flynn to reach out to the Russians after he was elected president, a perfectly normal and logical thing to have you national security adviser do, especially when the topic is literally fighting ISIS terrorists in Syria.

Just like that, complete disinformation had been spread to millions of Americans. Seven and half hours later, by the time many Americans had digested the information but moved on with their lives, Ross came back on air to issue what he first called a “clarification” which was actually just him debunking his own news report.

“And David, a clarification tonight on something one of Flynn’s confidante’s told us and we reported earlier today. He said the President asked Flynn to contact Russia during the campaign. He’s now clarifying that statement, saying, according to Flynn, candidate Trump asked him during the campaign to find ways to repair relations with Russia and other hot spots and then after the election, the President-elect asked him and told him to contact Russia on other issues, including working together to fight ISIS, David,” Ross said.

After a barrage of criticism online, ABC News eventually changed the language on their update to “correction” as if by that point the entire country wasn’t aware that they had spread absolute disinformation and then debunked their own reporting while laughably calling it a clarification.

The entire fiasco surrounding the huge nothingburger that was the charges against Flynn (he literally admitted to lying to the FBI about doing something that was legal) further proves that the establishment media are willing to spread any and all anti-Trump disinformation that their deep state handlers give them, regardless whether it is based in reality or not.

And this folks is a perfect example as to why the alternative media continues to grow like never before and exactly the reason why tech giants such as Google and Facebook are trying to limit our reach.
