18-Month-Old Palestinian Baby Burned to Death in Israeli Terror Attack

Ali Saad Dawabshah— an 18-month-old Palestinian boy— was burned to death in an “extremist attack” in the Palestinian village of Duma, just south of Nablus.

As reported by Al Jazeera, the baby’s death occurred when his house was set on fire by extremist Israeli settlers. Additionally, the boy’s parents and his 4-year-old sibling were severely injured, with up to 75% of their bodies burned in the atrocious terror attack.

Graffiti was found near the entrance of the village— where two other houses were burned down—which read “Revenge,” and “Long live the Messiah,” in Hebrew.

Witnesses told Al Jazeera that they had seen at least four settlers fleeing from the scene of the arson attacks. Further, there are at minimum three unlawful Israeli settlements near Duma village.

Al Jazeera also disclosed information from the UN that “at least 120 attacks by Israeli settlers have been documented in the occupied West Bank since the start of 2015.” Information from an Israeli human rights group adds that “more than 92.6 percent of complaints Palestinians lodge with the Israeli police go without charges.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has labelled the attack an act of terrorism.

Authorities are still trying to locate the suspects at this time. Let us hope that this tragedy does not end up included in the rather disappointing, aforementioned statistic.
