Wow. This is telling. Our government has been paying Nazis millions in social security money.
Via The Chicago Sun-Times:
Elfriede Rinkel’s past as a Nazi concentration camp guard didn’t keep her from collecting nearly $120,000 in American Social Security benefits.
Rinkel admitted to being stationed at the Ravensbrueck camp during World War II, where she worked with an attack dog trained by the SS, according to U.S. Justice Department records. She immigrated to California and married a German-born Jew whose parents had been killed in the Holocaust.
She agreed to leave the U.S. in 2006 and remains the only woman the Justice Department’s Nazi-hunting unit ever initiated deportation proceedings against. Yet after Rinkel departed, the U.S. Social Security Administration kept paying her widow benefits, which began after her husband died, because there was no legal basis for stopping them until late last year.
“No legal basis” huh? Oopsies.
Come on, it’s not like they didn’t know who this woman was.
Guess it took 70 years for them to officially declare that it is legally wrong for the U.S. government to give Nazi war criminals not just tens or hundreds of thousands but millions in benefit money??
The Social Security Administration Inspector General’s full report on this is expected to come out later this week, but it will apparently show that some 133 suspected SS guards and other Nazi war criminals involved in all manner of human suffering raked in $20.2 million in benefits since the program began.
It’s also pretty telling that Rinkel is the only woman the DOJ’s Nazi-hunting unit ever deported. Guess that’s because the rest of them were purposefully brought here by our government and simply continued their horrific crimes under Operation Paperclip.
