Why Is The Government Leaving Our Most Critical Infrastructure Wide Open To Terror Attacks?
August 22nd, 2013
If the federal government is so concerned about the threat of terrorism, then why is it doing so little to protect our most critical infrastructure? The control freaks in charge of our ânational securityâ seem to be absolutely obsessed with watching us and taking away our liberties and freedoms, but meanwhile they are leaving many of the most important potential targets virtually unguarded.
It is almost as if they are not even concerned that terrorists might attack them. For example, as you will see below, not a single one of our 104 commercial nuclear reactors would be able to handle a âmaximum credible terrorist attackâ.
The federal government also refuses to spend the money necessary to protect our electrical grid from being fried by a massive EMP blast even though the earth had a ânear missâ just a few weeks ago. And the Obama administration continues to leave the U.S. border with Mexico completely wide open even though it has been heavily documented that Hezbollah and other terror organizations are extremely active in Mexico. The federal government needs to quit spending so much money listening to our phone calls and feeling us up at our airports and they need to start spending money on the security matters that will really make a difference in the long run.
If terrorists hit one of our nuclear facilities, the next Fukushima could be right in the heart of the United States. And according to a shocking new report that was just released, our nuclear facilities are extremely vulnerableâŠ
Commercial and research nuclear facilities across the U.S. are inadequately protected against the threat of terrorism, according to the results of new study released this week by the Nuclear Proliferation Prevention Project (NPPP) at the University of Texas at Austinâs LBJ School of Public Affairs. The two biggest terror threats facing these facilities, according to the report, are the theft of bomb grade nuclear materials and sabotage attacks aimed at causing a nuclear reactor meltdown.
The study, entitled âProtecting U.S. Nuclear Facilities from Terrorist Attack: Re-assessing the Current âDesign Basis Threatâ Approach,â found not one of the 104 commercial nuclear reactors in the U.S. is protected against a âmaximum credible terrorist attack,â such as 9/11. In fact, nuclear facilities are not required to protect themselves against airplane attacks, assaults by large teams of terrorists or even high-power sniper rifles.
So why isnât the federal government doing anything about this?
That is a very good question.
And the federal government also refuses to do anything to protect our electrical grid from a massive EMP blast. So now state government officials are considering taking action since the federal government has dropped the ballâŠ
At the National Council of State Legislatures last week in Atlanta, a number of lawmakers said theyâre preparing legislation similar to a bill introduced in Maine recently did under the leadership of Rep. Andrea Boland.
Efforts are under way to press the membership of the NCSL to address the EMP issue, since the federal government has failed to take action to mitigate the potential for a catastrophic event, whether natural or man-made. An EMP event could knock out the U.S. electrical grid system and the critical infrastructures that rely on it.
Along with the national electrical grid, other critical infrastructures include telecommunications, banking and financial transactions, oil and natural gas pipelines, transportation, food and water delivery, emergency services and space systems.
In short, an EMP event could cause the collapse of society.
A massive EMP burst that fries our electrical grid could be caused by terrorists or it could come directly from our sun. In either event, the consequences could potentially be absolutely nightmarish. The following is a short excerpt from one of my previous articlesâŠ
An electromagnetic pulse can range from a minor inconvenience to a civilization-killing event. It just depends on how powerful it is. But in the worst case scenario, we could be facing a situation where our electrical grids have been fried, there is no heat for our homes, our computers donât work, the Internet does not work, our cell phones do not work, there are no more banking records, nobody can use credit cards anymore, hospitals are unable to function, nobody can pump gas, and supermarkets cannot operate because there is no power and no refrigeration. Basically, we would witness the complete and total collapse of the economy. According to a government commission that looked into these things, approximately two-thirds of the U.S. population would die from starvation, disease and societal chaos within one year of a massive EMP attack. It would be a disaster unlike anything we have ever seen before in U.S. history.
Without any electrical power whatsoever, society would descend into chaos quite rapidly. An article by Mac Slavo detailed some of the things that we could expect in the immediate aftermath of a massive EMP blastâŠ
The first 24 â 48 hours after such an occurrence will lead to confusion among the general population as traditional news acquisition sources like television, radio and cell phone networks will be non-functional.
Within a matter of days, once people realize the power might not be coming back on and grocery store shelves start emptying, the entire system will begin to delve into chaos.
Within 30 days a mass die off will have begun as food supplies dwindle, looters and gangs turn to violent extremes, medicine canât be restocked and water pump stations fail.
And remember, the earth nearly missed one of these civilization-crippling EMP blasts just a couple of weeks ago.
You would think that would have caused someone in Washington D.C. to wake up.
But it didnât. The federal government still seems absolutely unconcerned about the EMP threat.
Another way that the federal government is being negligent when it comes to national security is the total refusal of the federal government to secure the border.
In addition to all of the thieves, rapists, murderers, drug dealers and gang members that are freely hopping across the border, Hezbollah and other international terror organizations have free access to the United States because of our âopen borderâ policy.
Most Americans donât realize this, but Hezbollah is extremely active down in Mexico. The following is from one of my previous articlesâŠ
One local television news program recently interviewed a former U.S. intelligence agent who has spent many years tracking Hezbollah activities in Mexico. The following are some quotes from that interview about HezbollahâŠ.
*âThey are recognized by many experts as the âAâ team of Muslim terrorist organizations.â
*âWe are looking at 15 or 20 years that Hezbollah has been setting up shop in Mexico.â
*âthey are the equals of Russians, Chinese or Cubansâ
*âTheyâre focusing on developing ⊠infiltrating communities within North America.â
Right now they are making a ton of money from selling drugs and trafficking illegal aliens, and they send that money back to Lebanon to fund the fight against Israel. But someday the organization that Hezbollah has built up in Mexico will be used to fight against the United States.
But instead of securing the border, the Obama administration is doing all that it can to encourage even more illegal immigration.
This is an absolute disgrace. The federal government should not be asking the American people to make a single sacrifice in the name of ânational securityâ until they get their act together and start protecting our most critical infrastructure.
If terrorists do hit us, they are probably going to hit us where they can do the most damage. And when that occurs, we are all going to pay the price for the gross negligence of our federal government.
