When They Come For Your Guns, You Will Turn Them Over

“When they come for my gun, they will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands,” is a common refrain I often hear from the Tea Partiers when there is a threat, credible or otherwise, that the US government is going to take their firearms. And, when I hear this crazy talk, I agree with them openly. “You are right. They will pry your gun from your cold dead hands,” which I often follow with the question, “And where will that leave you except face down in a pool of your own blood [in] the middle of the street, just another dead fool resisting the State?” This is not a question they are comfortable with, if only because the intent of their saber-rattling was to imply they would fight to keep their weapons, and win. Nice fantasy. It’s not happening. If the federal government decides to disarm the public, and when the increasingly-militarized rolls down your street after a not-so-subtle request that you kindly turn over your firearms and ammunition “for the common good,” it will be nothing less than suicide by cop to do anything other than what you are told. The militarization of US police forces is ongoing and escalating. Many cities and towns now own tanks, armed personnel carriers, even attack helicopters, and almost all are outfitted with military weapons not available to the general public. And, it is not just your hometown cops who are getting new boy-toys. The military itself is buying up weaponry not just for use in the current or next scheduled war, but to deal with the likes of you, citizens who don’t seem to understand that the Bill of Rights has been overruled, and that specifically includes, but is not limited to, the right to protest and engage in civil disobedience. Also ignored (as if it didn’t even exist) is the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 which generally bars the military from law enforcement activities within the United States. According to Public Intelligence: “…for the last two years, the President’s Budget Submissions for the Department of Defense have included purchases of a significant amount of combat equipment, including armored vehicles, helicopters and even artillery, under an obscure section of the FY2008 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for the purposes of ‘homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities.’ Items purchased under the section include combat vehicles, tanks, helicopters, artillery, mortar systems, missiles, small arms and communications equipment. Justifications for the budget items indicate that many of the purchases are part of routine resupply and maintenance, yet in each case the procurement is cited as being ‘necessary for use by the active and reserve components of the Armed Forces for homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities’ under section 1815 of the FY 2008 NDAA.” And, they are not just arming cops and weekend warriors for domestic purposes. Active duty Marines are now being trained for law enforcement operations all over the world (of which the US remains a part) specifically to deal with civil uprisings, and the US government knows that civil uprisings are coming to a town near you just as soon as the fantasy of a healing economy is shattered, the US dollar fails, and unemployment goes to 30%+ in real numbers. And, to you tough-talking Neo-Cons with your AR-15 rifles and a few thousand rounds of ammo, here is the reality: they will take your guns, and no, all your Second Amendment bluster aside, you are not going to do anything about it. You are not going to take on a platoon of Marines with state-of-the-art automatic weapons and the best body armor you cannot buy protected by armed personnel carriers and attack helicopters unless you choose to die that day — for nothing. You will either be in the country or out, and if you are in, you will stay in and you will comply. That is your choice… for the moment. Today is a good day to die.
I live in red neck central and know all the cops around here, state or otherwise, IF the military came to take the guns away, the cops around here aren’t going to comply either. Everyone in this area has guns gallore, so yes, I would LOVE to see them try. I can tell you this much, I WILL be taking some of them with me and so will every other redneck I know. Oh, and they can’t shoot or bomb us all.
Some clueless people I ask what would you do if the gov. Comes for your guns. They say it would never happen but if it does they said they would shoot.
Hum cant they find somewhere else for a war or dont they have a new vaccine or disease to create somewhere.
While at first, this article angered me, the reality is — he’s unfortunately right. What, you say? Yup, he’s right!
Over the last decade plus I have heard the rhetoric (and have been on the giving end as well), been embroiled in deep conversations with fellow preppers and Patriots, have blogged and commented on many a forum, have had phone calls with personal friends who are of like-mind, and have come to the same conclusion no matter how powerful the arguments were. And that conclusion is — the same as the writer of this article. Logically, we simply do not have a chance of winning. They know it, and we should know it!
Now you’re saying, “You’re no Patriot! You’re a loser and a traitor!” No, you’re wrong. Allow me to explain in short.
No matter the super tough-guy bantering or the hyperbole thrown around, one fact is unmistakably true. We have allowed TPTB to become such a powerful and dictatorial machine over the last 4 decades without truly trying to stop them in any realist way. Like it or not — WE are to blame! Yes it is also true that there are approximately 225,000,000 guns running around the USA in the hands of 80,000,000 or so legal gun owners, and 100′s of millions rounds of ammunition to go along with all these guns. So what? Even if we had a gun “behind every blade of grass”, do you really think that will stop TPTB with all of their technologies and massive firepower?
We need to STOP thinking about this from an emotional (and even Patriotic) standpoint, and think about this from a logical side!! Emotionally, you and I can say all we want that we will NEVER give up our rights, or give them our guns, or rhetoric like “I would rather die standing than serving man on my knees.” While I completely and wholeheartedly agree with these statements, I must as a thinking human being, STOP and realize there is so much more to this than simple statements and emotions. Logic MUST win the day here if we are to ever, I repeat… EVER, stand a chance against these evil people!
Look at this point of logic. Here we are, on this site and other Patriot sites, commenting, helping others, reading the news, and the like. But please be honest. Except for prepping, target practicing, commenting and maybe writing an occasional email to our “lords and masters” in Congress… what are we REALLY doing to bring about change? Heck, we can’t even come together as a coordinated group! Why? “We don’t know you, therefore we don’t trust you” is one excuse used by many, many groups. Well fine. Let’s go around letting paranoia destroy us while TPTB continue to use their refined plan of division to rape us of all of our rights eventually!!
Look, it will take a concerted effort by MILLIONS of Patriots in this nation to go against these tyrannical idiots! If we cannot come together, somehow, some way, very quickly — WE WILL LOSE!
Which do you want personally? Having your way and only allowing those with the mindset that YOU have to be heard and included into this fight? Or are YOU willing to see that diversification is a wonderful thing as long as the main goal of all involved is to WIN THE DAY? Paranoia will destroy ya, and self-centeredness will ultimately lead to ALL of our demise!

I have a big issue with Jim’s statement. First of all he’s a coward for leaving this land to “settle” in Mexico. That shows me he has little to no sense of pride left for this country. I agree with Tyler. Most people always say “What about your wife and kids?” During the revolution, the wife and kids had their own guns. Are we a society of cowards now? What happened to give me liberty or give me death?

Some of us here are veterans as well and just may understand a thing or two. Many in our military will not fire on us, many will. Itll probably be the biggest bloodbath in our history. If an armed squad approaches my home I will know it and they wont get within arms reach of the doors before they are killed because Im not the only one they will be fighting. Why would the government want to disarm the people? For things far worse than death ! Any person that does not realize this is a fool or a party to the crimes against man that are planned. But, to give the writer credit, he is right that any one that bugs in will die quickly when they try to resist. But he is not a student of history either! The first tyrannical govt that tried this got there butts kicked by guerilla war fair even though they were far better equipped, trained and more techy. And it will not be Americans but rather blue hats and we will steal their equipment and use it against them. Our military would have a civil war internally if they killed to get our guns! His main gist was ” it is futile to resist, lay down and we will end you quickly if you are not slave material” the sleepers have been activated and violence will be everyday soon till November.

Let me ask though — what about the Brits were ‘more techy’ than the American citizen? Did they not fight the Continental Army toe-to-toe in British fashion? At first this was OUR tactics. It didn’t work though, did it? Then came the, as you put it, ‘guerilla’ tactics. This is my overall point! Too many of us within the Patriot Movement are like I was, and like Johnd24 and Ben are for instance (no disrespect intended, just using you all as examples). This attitude toward our coming fight will not bring victory.
Let me ask this — please be honest, 100% honest — (and I ask this from a standpoint of having been there and having thought that). What percentage of people do you know just want to “get it on” or say “come and get it – MOLON LABE!)? Most of them I bet. Then ask yourself this question… How? Is there a concerted, orchestrated, practiced and universally accepted method, plan or SITREP? NO! Like I’ve said, we chat, we type, we email. Where is a nationwide movement to SHOW OUR STRENGTH? They’ve got us trapped in our houses, in the shadows, making empty threats and promises. The victory will come to our side when the SEE us, and when the FEEL our response! What does that really say? Did I say an ‘unarmed’ show of force? Nope. Think OUT of the box. How have “they” cornered us, got us where they want us? Why can’t WE do the same? Nobody here ever hear of IEDs? One person may not be able to stand up to a platoon of well armed Marines etc but if enough citizens rise up and fight a war like the Muslims do we can at least mire them down long enough to have a fighting chance.

Some of the bullets will go through buildings. Someone is nuttier than the mentally ill they imagine are after them. Why dont they just fix the problems they caused? I do not think the people deserve this.
For all their military firepower and might, the fear of an IED and someone with the will to resist even if that means death will forever haunt many in uniform. As many weapons and access to military grade hardware that exists in the black markets here on US soil, we the American people can fight back. Like in all wars before, our air power has been the dominance, but aircraft can be taken care of, after that the grunts on the ground and their tanks, etc. can be disposed of with effort. Soldiers have loyalty to nothing but their damn paychecks and the moment they get scared or a few of them get killed, they become a bunch of unorganized shit for brains. I used to wear their uniform. America DOES have a chance.
Like on all sites you have the trolls and goblins who duty lies with evil, and the powers to be. Funny how they always want to put one in a position that they can never accomplish anything as the government is all powerful and all encompassing. Many forget that the majority of the enemy will be just as scared when the bullets come their way. When an accomplished sniper comes out of retirement, and decimates a small platoon, when individuals walk along a safe avenue, and a well place rounds explodes an seemingly safe wall, only to have it explode and kill or injure many, there starts to develope within the mind of combatants that it will not be a walk in the park. It was said once that if everyone who had an SS soldier walk up to their house had shot them, then the rounding up of citizens would have been much different. Look at the people who were taken to areas to be shot dead. The damn guards held weapons on them that were on safe, but the good little citizens went to their deaths without a whimper. Least we not forget that these fools have to have a supply line, destroy or interupt it, and their equipment, food, and supplies whither on the vine. Will all of this be easy, hell no, and many will lose their lives. In the end, it is those who value freedom, and won’t mind chopping off a few heads that will win the day. I for one am old enough that if my ticket is punched, oh well I’ve lived a good life, seen war up close and personal in SE Asia, dealth with criminals for 30 years and have enjoyed my kids and grandkids.
