War with Russia? Obama Just Authorized “Boots on the Ground” in Syria

| |

In what is being reported as “the most significant escalation in the US military campaign against ISIS to date,” Obama has just authorized boots on the ground in Syria.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said that the U.S. would be deploying “less than 50” Special Operations forces, who will be sent to Kurdish-controlled territory in northern Syria. The American troops will help local Kurdish and Arab forces fighting ISIS with logistics and are planning to bolster their efforts.

Remember back in fall 2013 when Americans were literally protesting an invasion into Syria because everyone knew it was b.s.?

Well, they wanted in to Syria somehow. It’s one of the paths to Persia, so-to-speak. They were going to make it happen any way they could.

All it took was two years and a little ISIS scaremongering to change all that real quick, huh?

Zero Hedge has reported how much this doesn’t make sense on the surface:

As we’ve detailed extensively (and this isn’t exactly a secret), Iran effectively runs the Iraqi military via its various Shiite militia proxy armies. That’s not an exaggeration. As Reuters reported earlier this month, “the Fifth Iraqi Army Division now reports to the militias’ chain of command, not to the military’s, according to several U.S. and coalition military officials.” So when the Apaches and their crews aren’t supporting the Kurds, they’ll be openly supporting Iran-backed fighters.

Ok, fine.

Only that isn’t at all consistent with placing US ground troops with Syria’s “moderate rebels” like the Free Syrian Army because after all, they’re fighting the very same Iran-backed Shiite militias. So the US would be bolstering the militiamen in Iraq with Apache gunship support and then firing on those exact same militiamen across the border in Syria in support of the “moderate” rebels battling to oust the Assad regime.

It’s beyond absurd.

On top of that, Chairman of the Russian Upper House committee for foreign affairs Konstantin Kosachev has already noted that this not only violates international law, but it inches the US further toward open war with Russia —

Commenting on the potential involvement of US ground troops against ISIS in Iraq and Syria, Kosachev once again highlighted that, when it comes to Syria, the US-led anti-ISIS campaign is already violating international law. Potential troops on the ground, Kosachev believes, will further violate international regulations.

Meaning —

“No ground operation is possible [in Syria], because that would inevitably involve Russia in the ongoing war,” the politician told RT.

Obama and all of the war hawks must be dragged out of Washington and hung for treason! They are deliberately trying to get us all killed so they can “save face” because of the Russians actually doing something about ISIS, thus killing the CIA’s buddies.
They’re trying to poke the bear in the eye, and it won’t work out well.

This can only end badly for all, this must be stopped now!

        Good point! I agree.

Also, what moral or legal authority gives our government the right to intervene in a country that does not want us there? Syria is a sovereign country.

    • So were the Confederate States of America.

    One way to fix stupid…………………

The crime syndicate in our republic of America which falsely claims to be our government is idiotic from the top on down. Troops on the ground in Syria to fight terrorists the crime syndicate is sponsoring? What is the limit of their stupidity? There certainly appears to be none.

Either remove the puss filled skin suited parasites form DC, the banks and their oligarch owners and put them in prison like Iceland did or you get to wait till they get you killed in a war they started. Those are the options as others have so clearly stated why cant we get this damn ball rolling?

They’re gonna start a war over people we have no interest in. These cretins are using our military and our tax dollars to support their own interests. And we damb sure won’t get to take part in collecting the profits from the pipeline and oil fields they are fighting for. But they sure didn’t have a problem using our money to fund the fighting. As usual, the rich get richer and we get to invest in their profits with zero return on investment.
I wish I could get a deal like that. It would be great if the government would give me a few billion dollars so I could finance an army to go and overthrow a foreign government so I could pillage their resources and not have to pay back a dime of the money the government gave me.
What a racket these people are running.

A pipeline is why Syria is such valuable real estate. The only thing that is in question is will it be Russian/Iranian oil flowing into the energy hungry Mediterranean/European sea or will it be Saudi/OPEC oil flooding the European markets. It has been extremely expensive keeping the flow of oil flowing through The choke points points in the straight of Hormuz, gulf of Aden (Yemen) and three regime changes in Egypt to keep the Suez canal open has been extremely expensive. It can be solved with a pipeline through Syria.
“Whoever controls the energy controls the nations.”
Just thought I’d put in my 2 cents worth….

    • Nexusfast123

The other factors are for Israel securing water resources and stealing the oil that has been discovered under the Golan Heights.

    • SovereignPatriot88

All these wars have been over control of the oil. And since 1974 it’s also been to protect the petrodollar.
The more unstable the middle east is, the easier it is to take advantage of their resources.

Not exactly the first time that USA has done this, wait until they see which side will win, then send in troops and claim that they were the victors.
In WWI and WWII USA waited until victory was assured, making lots of profits on supplying weapons, and as soon as it was clear that Germany was defeated, send an “Expeditionary” force.
When US troops (other than those embedded with Israel in ISIS) get killed by Russian bombs, don’t cry foul.
