In 2014, Americans will find some surprises on their insurance premiums and income tax bills, and they aren’t going to be happy.

Most insurance companies aren’t publicizing the Obamacare taxes – instead, they are discreetly adding them to bills.  So far, it has been reported that one insurance company has clearly listed the tax on its bills with a line item titled “Affordable Care Act Fees and Taxes.”

The New York Post reported on the taxes and fees Americans are seeing on their insurance premium bills:

The new taxes on one customer’s bill added up to $23.14 a month, or $277.68 annually, according to Kaiser Health News. It boosted the monthly premium from $322.26 to $345.40 for that individual.

The new taxes and fees include a 2 percent levy on every health plan, which is expected to net about $8 billion for the government in 2014 and increase to $14.3 billion in 2018.

There’s also a $2 fee per policy that goes into a new medical-research trust fund called the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute.

Obamacare supporters claim that federal subsidies for many low-income Americans will not only cover the taxes, but pay a big chunk of the premiums. But, the Obamacare taxes don’t only apply to the premiums – consumers will also pay hidden taxes.

One of those hidden taxes is the 2.3 percent medical-device tax on items such as pacemakers, stents and prosthetic limbs, inflating the cost for those who need them.

People with high out-of-pocket medical expenses also will get smaller income-tax deductions. Americans are currently allowed to deduct expenses that exceed 7.5 percent of their annual income, but that threshold jumps to 10 percent under Obamacare. The result? Taxpayer costs of about $15 billion over 10 years.

There’s also a new Medicare tax.  Under Obamacare, individual tax filers earning more than $200,000 and families earning more than $250,000 will pay an added 0.9 percent Medicare surtax on top of the existing 1.45 percent Medicare payroll tax. In addition, they will also pay an extra 3.8 percent Medicare tax on unearned income, such as investment dividends, rental income and capital gains.

The government is trying to make Americans buy something many of us don’t want, and now we are being forced to pay additional taxes for it – taxes that are set to increase year after year.

If you are a gov’t employee, you must abide by gov’t rules / codes. If you are a 4th amendment citizen to the Republic, you don’t have any liability to gov’t rules.

  • Jerry Bartlett

You are one fucked up little camper…

    • homer1057

Jerry, was that really needed, maybe she may be a little skewed in her thinking but maybe some jerk of a man spoiled it for her and she hates all men for that reason. Maybe not but…have a little grace and mercy on her, she actually knows that what she said is really not true, she would just like it to be! You and I know better! At least according the KJV bible, I am POSITIVE that I am sure, I have HIS WORDS that say it is true!! The husband is head of the wife Ephesians 5 :23 KJV

But them stealing the citizens money and not having to account for a cent of it isn’t a crime.Sounds a bit one sided to me!

Maybe you would prefer to be treated the same way muslim women are treated. You have it made in western society and are to stupid to realize it. Genetically superior my ass. You give the rest of us women a bad name. We dont want you on our side! You must be related to Pelosi and Feinstein, an insufferable, self-righteous loud-mouth feminist fool who does not know when to just shut up and die off already.

The idea is great except for one little issue sunshine. Most businesses take out taxes BEFORE you get paid unless you are self employed. They get their money long before you get yours. They set up the system to prevent exactly what you want to do. To get them to stop withholding for an entire year will get you flagged immediately and likely involve every alphabet agency in America crawling up every crack in every ass in your entire family tree. We the People waited to long to stop this runaway train honey, now all we can hope for is jumping off before it crashes.

    • Brenda

You can claim max dependants with your employer and he will not take out taxes. Plus, you have committed no crime as long as you file your taxes with the correct number and pay only those taxes due.

In what way do you find ObamaCare affordable? You might want to take a reality check or do your own homework, most of all, quit listening to the talking heads on the MSM. We are getting the screws put to us, our military is getting crushed, not to mention the younger generations… What country are you referring to? NO ONE has the RIGHT to health care. Women are NOT OPPRESSED in America, I know, I AM ONE! And if you feel you have the need for breast implants buy them yourself!

  • Minny_me

So is what’s being forced upon the American People against the Law, but you don’t seem to be able to decipher the Truth judging by your posts on here Ms. Steinbeck. Maybe you are just another one of those standing in line with their hand out because you can’t be responsible and take care of yourself, everyone else has to do it for you. Well you obviously are because you think we should pay for you to have bigger boobs. Screw the Vets, right[?]
, their Benefits that were promised to them are being taken away, their pensions, I’m sure that’s OK with you, right? Your posts are the perfect example of the selfish, it’s all about ME syndrome.

You NEED implants? What you need is a room in an insane asylum.

    • LexiconD1

Well she’ll get it under her Obama’care’ subsidized boondoggle.

Well, if she can get the people to pay for it. It’s not looking too good for her…

Here is a phrase my pastor coined many years ago: see if it is acurrate? United Search and Seizure of Assets= USSA Now does that fit or what? This nation has gone from a nation that could get things done and now, they (the govt) couldn’t fight their way out of a wet paper bag, and they are as useless as used Toilet paper!

Excuse me: Genetically superior to men? LOL where do you get your info? Let me give you a short biblical lesson OK..The Husband is HEAD of the wife. Ephesians 5:23 KJV and the woman IS the weaker vessel 1 Peter 3:7 KJV and the woman was Taken out of man and the man came before the woman, if it were NOT for the man, there would not be a woman! Genesis 2:22 The man was 1st and the woman is from the man…WO MAN! Your menstrual leakage is what God gave the woman because of her disregard for what she was told to do and disobeyed her husband, ADAM! YOU don’;t need health care_ YOU NEED JESUS CHRIST! SEEK YE FIRST, the Kingdom of God and allllll these things shall be added unto you. Matt 6:33 KJV and 1 Peter 3:18 KJV Lastly, see Gen 3:16 it says in sorrow shalt thou bring forth children and …thy husband shall RULE over thee. Now I know you don’t like this and I don’t like to say it but GOD, in His wisdom KNOWS what it takes and He gave the order for the husband to be head over the wife…that doesn’t make the man any bettr, but more responsible and having to get a bigger beating when he gets out of line! IF you have a husband then pray for him, and submit yourself to him, if NOT, don’t ever get married w/the way you feel about men! Then pray for a good Godly man!

My plan is through my retirement, the cost is $579 per month, the deductible is now $3400 before anything is picked up by the insurance, then 80% of doc visits, emergency room visits, hospital stays , and prescriptions, a total of $5600 out of pocket then the plan picks up 100%. I can not afford the $150 per doctor visit on my current income.
