Since December, VA Has Revoked Gun Rights for 260,000 Veterans

The Department of Veteran’s Affairs has long proven that bureaucracy and medical care are incompatible. It’s bad enough that the incompetence and waste of the VA has led to the deaths of thousands of veterans in recent years, but apparently they’re also treating them like garbage while they’re still alive.

Last December the VA started reporting thousands of veterans to the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check system, which is responsible for determining whether or not a potential gun buyer is legally allowed to own a firearm.

Specifically, they’ve been reporting veterans who have a fiduciary trustee to act on their behalf for legal or financial matters. All veterans with this arrangement are being automatically declared “mentally defective” according to, and are having their second amendment rights revoked. Over the past 4 months alone the VA has reported over 260,000 veterans to the NICS, which now accounts for 99% of all “mentally defective” claims to the database.

Of course, not all veterans with a fiduciary trustee are a danger to themselves or others, and unfortunately the VA hasn’t bothered to investigate any of these individuals to see if they should be reported. Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa has been questioning the VA on this matter, and hopes to put a stop to it. “The very agency created to serve them (veterans) is jeopardizing their Second Amendment rights through an erroneous reading of gun regulations. The VA’s careless approach to our veterans’ constitutional rights is disgraceful.”

Getting declared “mentally defective” probably added a “kicker” to their bennies. In return they’ve lost their natural right to self-defense codified in the Constitution. Take the King’s schilling, do the King’s bidding. Cry me a river.

I’m sad to say I have to agree with you. I used to be a member of the Marine League…left in disgust all these members putting in for PTSD so they could get some extra bennies….I told them, “be careful” there would come a day when someone would ask…”Do we want all these PTSD vets running around with firearms?” I served 3 tours in Iraq and when I retired the VA guy PUSHED for me to “put in for PTSD”…saying, “do you ever have headache, have difficulty sleeping?” I can get you some extra money….I told him to F*ck Off….I felt just fine…..leave me alone….and I still have all my firearms….laughs.

You become a financial burden and a liability to the state after you loose your usefulness as a mobile weapons platform.
Fighting dogs don’t get “retired” the get put down. Watch your back Vets.

Notice that The Sheeple’s new kosher thought police have been banning posters who are inconvenient to the tribal narrative and deleting all their posts.

      • I noticed that too! Things must be heating up out there! My days are probably numbered then… lol!

The word is out. Many have awakened. As best we can tell, the Sheeple is using the same censor as SHTF, a seriously pompous deceiver.

But they don’t ban Mark. I think it has more to do with how you approach the subject not that i agree with the method. They can get there ad revenue pulled and there Discus (possibly) account close. So you can only push the line so far.
All in all i find it pretty good here. They have been more open to my idealogical differences than Infowars or TheDailyStormer before the Jews (possibly) had there Discus shut down.

          Mark was banned.

If you believe the treasonous felons of the VA have ANY lawful authority to remove one inalienable right of any American…. you are an ignorant moron……

    • The gov itself doesn’t have the lawful authority to restrict 2A rights to anyone!

    • Frank

That’s right! The VA does not have the authority to revoke a Veteran’s, or any other person’s, Second Amendment Rights. The current Administration is using this as a backdoor policy to restrict guns from those who will take up arms against tyranny when the day comes – and the VA Secretary is a complicit, political stooge for facilitating this.

Soon Bayer aspirin will be associated with PTSD (post, pre and present) and the syndrome will be attached to civilians as well as vets. DSM-5 has opened the doors to total confiscation.

As others here have already noted, no agency or bureau of the government has the unilateral power to revoke a Constitutionally guarenteed right. They’ll only do it so long as we allow it.

Gubmint didnt give that right to us so… it would seem that they, the gubmint, should NOT be able to take back something it didnt give. I say to hell with the gubmint and Constitutional Carry should be throughout the land. Guns make for a polite society…
