Scientists Developing Directed Energy Laser Weapon ‘Death Star’ to Destroy Asteroids

| |

Didn’t Tesla think of this first?

A team at University of California is working on a planetary defense project they’ve dubbed the “De-Star” — Direct Energy System for Targeting Asteroids and exploRation (they apparently had to work really hard for the final “R” in that knickname there).

Sounds like Ronald Reagan’s Star Wars program… or just the movie Star Wars. The laser weapon would be used to protect planet Earth from rogue asteroids by vaporizing them.

A smaller version would fly alongside asteroids and provide a last line of defense should the object make a run toward Earth.

The only problem with the system is that the team would need a decent heads up to prevent disaster, and NASA recently proved to the world that two-story wide meteors could enter Earth’s atmosphere completely undetected by the agency, despite the fact that they have an entire program that’s supposed to do just that.

For some reason, I have a hard time believing a weapon such as this is actually meant to be deployed against asteroids. Especially when, not too long ago, there was an article claiming that the elites have built a fleet of spaceships meant to whisk them all away to a safer planet when everything here goes all to hell.

    • jim_robert

Yep. They’re all going to the same planet Mork from Mork and Mindy came from.

      • disqus_3BrONUAJno

Will Mindy divorce Leroy Jethro Gibbs if Mork agrees to stop hanging around?

“The only problem with the system is that the team would need a decent heads up to prevent disaster”.
I think he bigger problem is how long will it be until this technology is used against other nations and OUR citizens? Don’t think for a minute that it will remain nice and friendly. They are already trying to arm domestic “law enforcement” drones. The bastards must be salivating over this new toy….

The only thing that can stop a bad guy is a space laser is a good guy with a space laser.

I got an asteroid riding my bike to see a space shuttle launch a few years back…

Presumably it had it’s first field test run 911

    “is that even possible?”

“Oh God no, but….it pays pretty good”

Nope, that is far more solid than EMF.

I don’t believe a Weapon that can could blast ROCKS out of the sky. Is being designed for that purpose only more like a Defensive tool to Defend Earth from invaders. From Space. Sense 1947 Every time a UFO crashes Our Military’s Shows up to pick up the Wreckage. That I Would Believe.

    • disqus_3BrONUAJno

Would you rather that ISIS pick up the wreckage?

  • disqus_3BrONUAJno

Tesla never worked with anything above high frequencies (i.e. 30 MHz).

      • disqus_3BrONUAJno

Discovery is a long way from being able to modulate it.
The entire electromagnetic spectrum was discovered before Tesla was born, no one has learned how to modulate anything above microwaves.

        • Plasmael Homunculus

Your original statement, “Tesla never worked with anything above high frequencies (i.e. 30 MHz).” is still wrong. You seem to have a problem with comprehension, to discover the properties of something one would have to have ‘worked with’ that item. Reread the article I posted, maybe you will ‘get it’.
Also, you didn’t mention ‘modulation’ in your original statement. So, everyone needs to be clairvoyant to understand what you are saying?
But now that you’ve brought it up. What type of ‘Modulation’? AM, FM, NRZI, PE, ….
Another point, Tesla could vary the input power to his x-ray tube, varying the output power of the x-rays. That could be considered a form of AM, as amplitude is directly related to power.
And last, “no one has learned how to modulate anything above microwaves.” Wrong again, Infrared and Light can be ‘Modulated’ and they are above Microwaves.

          • disqus_3BrONUAJno

There is no point in working with EMF if it can’t be modulated to transmit intelligence, which is the sole goal of telecommunications, in which I work. Changing power output isn’t modulation if no information is conveyed. I’m leaving you in charge of this ignorant monologue.

          • Plasmael Homunculus

The only “ignorant monologue” is yours. You still Fail.
            Good Night.

.A.First our US Military dos a fine job picking UFO Wrecks The Military Should share the Knowledge With The world Anty Gravity Devices would Make it Cheaper to get us in to Space. Not Just for The Rich.B. ISIS Hasn’t
Experienced Real Terror yet. i Give them some with a freehand i can win Against ISIS. Because there Would Be None Left Alive Anywhere. On Earth. Peace is Better. But thats Just me.
