Scientist: NOAA’s Recent Upward Adjustments in Climate Change Temp Data Are “Rather Huge”

| |

In recent testimony before the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Subcommittee, Senator Ted Cruz asked atmospheric climate scientist Judith Curry about the alarming trend of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration consistently “adjusting” the temperature data — data that many climate change reports and policies are based on — upwards in recent years.

“…the adjustments, as you can see, are rather huge… [T]he error bars should really be much bigger if they’re making such large adjustments. So, we really don’t know too much about what’s going on in terms of– there’s a great deal of uncertainty.”

In other words, the climate data that we’re continuously being told proves without a doubt, science is settled and all that, that man is causing global warming is… fuzzy at best because, “we really don’t know too much about what’s going on” since NOAA, an organization with an obvious vested interest in fudging the numbers, is obviously fudging the numbers and fudging them upward.

NOAA, by the way, recently refused to hand over this exact temperature data to Congress for review on the grounds that there is “a long-standing practice in the scientific community to protect the confidentiality of deliberative scientific discussions”.

Uh-huh. Sure.

Data should be data. That’s it. Period. Data (well, data that hasn’t been fudged) should stand on its own. Obviously someone has something to hide here if they won’t just hand it over.

Lol-I love one commenters suggestion of “leap degrees”!

These adjustments are just in time for the Paris meeting.

Funny how science and nature were so obliging to politics. It was almost science made to order.

Opps! It is science made to order

    I believe in Global Melting:

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

A LOT more land mass will be available, so the believers won’t be crowded while prepping for interstellar journeys

“a long standing practice in the scientific community to protect the confidentiality of deliberative scientific discussions.” My ass! It doesn’t seem to stop “scientific studies” meant to show the effectiveness of gun control!

Good science is reproducible. It appears few are getting the exact means to perform tests and compare data. It seems to be more of an opinion than hard scientific method.
