“We are no longer citizens of the United States of America and all those who live in the five-state area that encompasses our country are free to join us,” long-time Indian rights activist Russell Means told a handful of reporters and a delegation from the Bolivian embassy, gathered in a church in a run-down neighborhood of Washington for a news conference.

A delegation of Lakota leaders delivered a message to the State Department on Monday, announcing they were unilaterally withdrawing from treaties they signed with the federal government of the United States, some of them more than 150 years old.

I grew up around Indians, and went to school with them. This was back when the AIM was really in the news. I always admired the culture, but as a white boy didn’t understand it on the level I do now. The older I get and the more repressive our government becomes, the better I understand the plight of the Indian tribes. Mr Means makes some very good points, and perhaps we should all look at the experiences of these people. They have been walking point on a very sad trail, and more of us should support them and join the fight for freedom.

The Indians create their own problems. They have high rates of illegitimacy and alcoholism. They don’t want to work. They blame all their problems on the white man. The reservation is like the inner city for all its problems. I see nothing to admire.

Bill you are a HUGE tool. The Indians crated their won problems ….HAHAHAH you f–k !!!. You gotta be an old white guy casue you are stupid as hell.

I want to see you be anything more than a stump if everything you have is taken away, you are beat down, you are kicked everytime you try to stand up and then you are told its all your fault…your brain is like a mushroom.

People like you ARE the problem with America and the world in general. And dont try and liberal or conservative me you joker. I make my own decissions based on fact butterscotch. I stopped being fed my thoughts when I looked around and said WTF, this is all a bunch of damn lies.

I salute you Bill BAHHHHH !!!

Dont take my typos as ignorance troll. Just because I dont type well does not mean a thing.

One sadly has to wonder just how long it will take for Mr. Means to end up in Gitmo…

  • Bill S

That’s pretty stupid. If they’re not American citizens let them stop taking government handouts and leave the country.

    • BigCountry

Uh… Bill… its THEIR country… as in the ‘original home team.’ I’d say they have one h*ll of a better claim on this A.O. than you.

You dumbazz….Native Americans are set up on reservations that accommodate one to several Tribal Nations. Each one is considered “Sovereign” by Treaty that is drawn up in accordance with the Constitution of the United States. BIA has the supporting documents.

Your own hatred & ignorance blinds you to facts. I have pity for your offspring and those around you. Yes, I’m one of the “Long Knives”; I don’t have to defend Native Americans ’cause they do a pretty good job by themselves. Plus, they can get a the great white man to RUN to the reservation, take the White’s money and send them home broke because of their Casinos & Smoke shops. Same thing is done in other COUNTRIES with duty free shops along borders. But they are HUMAN & are subject to the same shortfalls as the rest of us. But not as short as yours, for if they were, your scalp would be on some warrior’s lodge pole.

I believe Mr. Means is only expressing out loud what a lot of us privately wish for or at least believe could happen, and that is secession from the U.S. of Amerika.

I have to admit, this idea is sounding better to me more and more.

  • Lon Chainee

seceding wouldn’t be necessary if the marines, navey seals, etc., weren’t such abject cowards when it comes to keeping their oath, (their promise, their word), to defend the Constitution from it’s domestic enemies.

  • Pessimistick

The Lakota are actually behind some of the other tribes on this one. The Mohawks rescinded their treaties back in 2009, and they actually control the major shipping channel, the St. Lawrence River, at the Eisenhower Locks. Pity they don’t have enough weapons to back up the words.
