Michael Mahon Hastings (January 28, 1980 – June 18, 2013) was an American journalist, writer and reporter for BuzzFeed. Hastings rose to prominence with his coverage of the Iraq War for Newsweek. After his fiancee died in Iraq, he wrote the memoir I Lost My Love in Baghdad: A Modern War Story (2008). HisRolling Stone profile of General Stanley McChrystal, commander of NATO’s International Security Assistance Force in the Afghanistan war, documented the widespread contempt of the general and his staff for civilian officials in the US government and resulted in the general’s resignation.

Michael Hastings, recently investigating new heightened levels of governmental sponsored surveillance of the American populace, was reported dead Wednesday by his employer.

The LAPD said the body recovered from the fiery car crash that ended a single human death after jumping a median and hitting a tree was unidentifiable and it is still unknown if there is any further connection to foul play or illegal activity.

Sincere question…how does the engine end up 100 yards away when the nose of the car is pinned against a tree? One might assume that the inertia created by the speed of the car and sudden deceleration of hitting the tree would provide the energy needed to send the motor flying. But if the tree is blocking the grill, how did the motor get out of the nose of the car? Seems like Mercedes would be crying foul – what piece of crap car explodes like a Hollywood movie? I don’t think Pintos even went up in smoke like that.

Maybe same thing that happened to our seal on the helicopter crash in Afghanistan. There is too much evil in our government now. How can we even trust the government to protect us when the congress lets Odumba ignore and violate the Constitution on a almost daily basis? TYRANNY IS CLOSE AT HAND

I keep on wondering who that guy is @ 1:43 min walking on the sidewalk away from the accident scene as if it is a sunny day going for an ice cream. Any ideas? Do fire trucks have cams? If yes, this should show a good pic of the guy.
