Conventional treatment for depression usually consists of the use of antidepressant medications, therapy, or a combination of both.

Despite their widespread use, antidepressant medications are not without risk or controversy. One only has to look at recent headlines to see the possible serious risks linked to the drugs:

In addition, antidepressants aren’t always helpful: the medications usually take at least two weeks to show any effect, and for some people, they don’t work at all.

Experts say that a drug that is fast-acting and provides sustained relief from depression was available, the risk of suicide among patients would be reduced.

A new research finding adds to the growing body of evidence that a controversial party drug may be the answer those experts (and those who suffer from depression) have been looking for.

  • Apparently Jake isn’t very good at vetting drugs for their long-term side effects.
If he were, he’d know that ketamine isn’t free of them.

  • Mike

weed does the same and it is ALL NATURAL.

    • K is nothing like weed, Mike. It is a nervous system disassociator and will scare the hell out of anyone who isn’t a veteran at doing drugs if they do enough of it. You get lost inside of yourself but not in a good/natural way but in a chemical, forced way.

      • Mike

I meant as far as being able to get a person high.

  • Clementine

Why not go the all natural route with Psilocybin mushrooms and Entheogens…? They’ve been around for 10,000 years, that we know of, and have been proven beneficial throughout history… but Big Pharma can’t have that, healthy people don’t generate revenue.

    • lilred

I’ve read in some cases in cali people can be prescribed mdma.
I ate some mushrooms a few months ago. Didn’t need much. Going to fast for 24 hours soon then eat a few more

      • There are now ayahuasca retreats in WA. state, buy it yourself right now from here:

That link alone is why you are the s. I’m buying after I get my next paycheck

          • They had a bad review on but if you read it the woman was just impatient. She thought it was like ordering an amazon product and didn’t consider that it would take a while. It takes around 3 weeks to get it.

          • lilred

Dude I just saw that today. I just got a raise so if I lose 200$ , it wouldn’t be the first time I was ripped off. I have spent more on less, that’s for sure.

          • I don’t believe you will get ripped off, I am buying some myself in the coming months, you’re just going to have to wait a lot longer than you would for a normal package. After you do it I’d love to hear about it!

          • lilred

I also live in WA state, and have been trying to find out about that healing retreat, but it doesn’t look like they have it set up for healing yet

          • Clementine

If you also live here then just venture off on a camping trip with good people… Mother Nature is a great retreat… 🙂

          • lilred

I do that a lot when I’m not working. I’m usually out at the ocean or in the mountains. We have an amazingly beautiful state.

          • Yes you do, you’re both lucky.

          • Clementine

            We sure do! 🙂

        • Clementine

My retreats in WA State consist of me driving further into the woods with my camping gear… excellent! Mother Nature heals, in too many ways to list!

          • You are in a great area for that!

          • Clementine

Mmmmmm… yes, I have enjoyed those many times. That retreat isn’t very far from me. I look at The Brothers Mountain (pictured on their site) everyday. Maybe I’ll have to try it out sometime… see what a “guided” trip is like.

          • Maybe your technique of “guided by nature” is superior, it sure sounds it to me.

  • Jollyjoke

The link is nothing but a site for another snake oil salesman. Go natural as a poster further down has suggested.

  • Brooklyn Dave

When I was in my wilder days I had ketamine (Special K) by accident. Not a pleasant experience. I thought ketamine was an animal tranquilizer?

    • Clementine

      It is…

    • I sold it by the gross, not by accident, and it is not a good drug.

  • Of course, whatever its benefits, unless the pharmaceutical industry can control and profit from it, it will do all it can to prohibit its use, just as it continues to do so vigorously in regard to marijuana and the other selectively-prohibited drugs!
That industry of utter evil and greed must be punished and destroyed!

  • Say no to K, trust me, I know.
