On The Coldest Day In America In 20 Years, Here Are Al Gore’s Stupidest Global Warming Quotes

| |

Our grid depends on this mineral

Ice-Storm-300x300

America could actually use some global warming right about now.  It is being projected that low temperatures across the Midwest could be 30 to 50 degrees below average on Monday morning.

On Sunday, fans that attempted to tailgate before the playoff game between the 49ers and the Packers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin were discovering that their beers were actually turning to icebefore they could drink them.  That is cold.  But things are going to get really chilly when nightfall arrives.

In fact, it is being projected that much of the nation will experience wind chill temperatures of more than 40 degrees below zero, and wind chill temperatures of more than 50 degrees below zero are expected in parts of North Dakota and Minnesota.  The weather is expected to be so cold that the governor of Minnesota has actually decided to close public schools statewide on Monday.  The last time that happened was back in 1997.  The reason why the governor of Minnesota did this is because when temperatures get this low they can literally be life threatening.

When wind chill temperatures get down to about 50 below zero, if your skin is exposed you can literally develop frostbite in about five minutes.  This is being called the coldest day in America in 20 years, and these cold temperatures have many Americans wondering what ever happened to all of that “global warming” that Al Gore and other “climate scientists” have been warning us about for so many years.

If the planet really is getting significantly warmer, our winters should not be like this.  Back in the year 2000, one prominent “climate scientist” boldly declared that future generations of children “just aren’t going to know what snow is.

Oh really?

The truth is that you don’t have to be a “climate scientist” to understand what is happening to the weather.  All you need is a little common sense.

Back in September, I warned that this was going to be “an extremely bitterly cold winter“.  I wrote another article that warned about how cold this winter would be in early December.

Right now we are witnessing cold temperatures that we have not seen in decades.  The following is the way that one meteorologist put it…

“If you’re under 40 (years old), you’ve not seen this stuff before.”

Another meteorologist wanted people to understand just how dangerousthis kind of cold weather can be…

“A person not properly dressed could die easily in those conditions.”

To get an idea of just how cold it is up in Minnesota today, just check out the following anecdote that was reported by the BBC

Firemen tackling a blaze in Minneapolis, where temperatures have been below -20C, saw the spray from their hoses turn to ice as it hit the building.

And it is even colder up in Canada.  Things are so cold up in Ontario that “frost quakes” have become very common…

While America collectively freaks out over their impending ‘polar vortex’, Canada is changing the game when it comes to cold weather phenomenon as reports of ‘frost quakes’ emerge from around Toronto and Ontario.

Indeed, as temperatures drop overnight to around -4f around the city hundreds of people are being startled by hearing large booms – causing them to think their homes are being broken into or gunshots are being fired.

In fact, they are merely hearing the after-effects of the frost quakes – or cryoseism – which are more commonly found on a glacier in the polar regions.

So are we really experiencing “global warming”?

Of course not.

If anything, things are actually getting colder.

What the United States and Canada are experiencing right now is making global warming alarmists such as Al Gore look quite foolish.  The following are 10 of Al Gore’s stupidest global warming quotes…

#1 In 2008, Al Gore boldly declared to a German audience that “the entire North ‘polarized’ cap will disappear in 5 years.” (Needless to say, that did not happen.  In fact, the ice cap in the Arctic actually got larger this year.)

#2 “CO2 is the exhaling breath of our civilization, literally. … Changing that pattern requires a scope, a scale, a speed of change that is beyond what we have done in the past.” (Actually, without carbon dioxide life on earth would not exist.)

#3 “The planet has a fever. If your baby has a fever, you go to the doctor. If the doctor says you need to intervene here, you don’t say, ‘Well, I read a science fiction novel that told me it’s not a problem.’ If the crib’s on fire, you don’t speculate that the baby is flame retardant. You take action.” (It sounds like what Al Gore really needs is more cowbell.)

#4 During a speech at NYU Law School in 2006, Al Gore made the following statement: “Many scientists are now warning that we are moving closer to several “tipping points” that could — within as little as 10 years — make it impossible for us to avoid irretrievable damage to the planet’s habitability for human civilization.”

#5 “Here is the truth: The Earth is round; Saddam Hussein did not attack us on 9/11; Elvis is dead; Obama was born in the United States; and the climate crisis is real.”

#6 “The interior of the earth is extremely hot – several million degrees.” (It actually peaks out at about 11,000 degrees.)

#7 “There is an air of unreality in debating these arcane points when the world is changing in such dramatic ways right in front of our eyes because of global warming.”

#8 “It would be an enormous relief if the recent attacks on the science of global warming actually indicated that we do not face an unimaginable calamity requiring large-scale, preventive measures to protect human civilization as we know it.”

#9 “The survival of the United States of America as we know it is at risk. And even more — if more should be required — the future of human civilization is at stake.”

#10 “We ought to approach this challenge [of global warming] with a sense of profound joy and gratitude: that we are the generation about which, a thousand years from now, philharmonic orchestras and poets and singers will celebrate by saying, they were the ones that found it within themselves to solve this crisis and lay the basis for a bright and optimistic human future.”

As time goes by, the scientific evidence continues to mount.  It is becoming painfully evident that the theory of man-made global warming simply is not true.  The following is from a recent New American article

Well, 2013 is almost over, and contrary to the alarmist “predictions” by Gore and what critics refer to as his “doomsday cult,” the latest satellite data show that Arctic ice cover has actually expanded 50 percent over 2012 levels. In fact, during October, sea-ice levels grew at the fastest pace since records began in 1979. Experts predict the expansion to continue in the years to come, leaving global-warming alarmists scrambling fiendishly for explanations to save face — and to revive the rapidly melting climate hysteria.

In September, meanwhile, data also showed that sea ice levels in Antarctica had expanded to record levels for the second year in a row. Of course, by now, virtually everyone who has been following news about “global warming” — now more often referred to as “climate change” owing to public-relations concerns — also knows that global temperatures have not risen for some 17 years. The spectacular lack of warming demolished all 73 of the “climate models” used by the United Nations to push its controversial theories.

Sadly, most of the governments of the planet still consider “man-made global warming” to be one of the greatest threats facing us, and the U.S. government is leading the charge.  In fact, the U.S. government has been giving other nations billions of dollars to help them cope with “climate change”…

American taxpayers spent $7.45 billion to help developing countries cope with climate change in fiscal years 2010 through 2012, according to a federal government report submitted to the United Nations on a subject that Secretary of State John Kerry described as “a truly life-and-death challenge.”

And it appears that Barack Obama plans to make the fight against global warming a major point of emphasis for the rest of his time in office…

When President Obama leaves office three years from now, the major policy story of his second term — barring some kind of unforeseen invasion — is likely to be climate change. I made this argument at feature length last year, and the evidence continues to mount. Coral Davenport reports today about Secretary of State John Kerry’s “systematic, top-down push to create an agencywide focus on global warming.”

Considering the host of other major problems that this country is facing, it truly is ironic that the federal government is spending so much time and energy fighting a problem that doesn’t even exist.

Speaking of ironic, a team of “climate change scientists” that had recently gone down to the Antarctic to study “global warming” had to be rescued by helicopter when their ship got stranded in the ice…

A group of climate change scientists were rescued by helicopter Jan. 2, after being stranded in the ice since Christmas morning. But the majority of the broadcast networks’ reports about the ice-locked climate researchers never mentioned climate change.

The Russian ship, Akademic Shokalskiy, was stranded in the ice while on a climate change research expedition, yet nearly 98 percent of network news reports about the stranded researchers failed to mention their mission at all. Forty out of 41 stories (97.5 percent) on the network morning and evening news shows since Dec. 25 failed to mention climate change had anything to do with the expedition.

In fact, rather than point out the mission was to find evidence of climate change, the networks often referred to the stranded people as “passengers,” “trackers” and even “tourists,” without a word about climate change or global warming.

Yes, the climate of the earth is changing. Throughout history it has always been changing. Most of that change is due to fluctuations in the gigantic ball of fire that our planet is revolving around.

But the idea that carbon dioxide is going to “destroy the planet” is ludicrous.  Without carbon dioxide we would all die.

And the notion that “man-made global warming” is the “greatest threat” that humanity is facing is absolutely laughable.

Sadly, nothing seems to dissuade the true believers.  Not even days like today.

The earth has been warming BEFORE HUMANS ARRIVED since the last ice age 10,000 years ago. This isn’t man made it’s NATURALLY OCCURRING you SHEEPLE!!!!!.

  • mort_f

Yes, methane . bio-fuel derivative from pure bullshit. Nazi Germany even powered some municipal buses with manure cookers.

  • bandit

    And your a DRONE !

    • Reverend Joe Ruyle

You missed the point presented by “The language police” there, Bandit. The pronoun “your” is a possessive term…. meaning something belongs to you. (It’s your drone)

The word you’re all grasping for and missing is “you’re” which sounds the same…. but is the contraction form of “you are.”

No offense intended…… just a quick and easy language lesson….. class dismissed. :-)

      • bandit

Thanks ,but do you really thiink Amy has the intelligence to catch intended incorrect grammar . . .

        • Reverend Joe Ruyle

Considering her statement….. nah. As true product of the liberal progressive “education” system she’s been conditioned to believe government and question her own judgement. Actually…. she’s been trained to believe that “judging” is politically incorrect. (which is interesting in itself…. because for someone above her to have come up with the “politically correct” opinion to have…. they had to have been judgmental themselves) Whoever said that liberalism was a mental disorder just flat nailed it.

          • bandit

            I agree wholeheartedly.

    • Destry

Actually, bandit, Amy is a troll… a liberal, secular-progressive, global warming alarmist troll. Al Gore has been largely discredited if not shown to be an outright fraud.

      • sharonsj

Speaking of brain dead, right-wingers call anybody who disagrees with them a “troll.” That’s because right-wingers aren’t interested in facts, or even having a discussion. I suppose three hours a day of Rush Limbaugh telling you lies about global warming would kill anyone’s brain.

        • Daniel F. Melton

Got any global warming to share?

        • celticwaryor

See my post to Amy (above).

        • bandit

          Ignorance is bliss !

        • Destry

Speaking of brain dead, you wouldn’t know or understand any facts on the subject of climate change if they smacked you up along side your head. I don’t listen to Rush Limbaugh, but I do read about climate change from many different sources. The conclusion is that there has been a state of equilibrium, neither warming or cooling for about a decade and a half and there’s valid scientific evidence that the planet may be moving into a global cooling condition. Read Len
Bilén’s blog, Eleven Signs We are Entering a New Little Ice Age.
If ignorance is bliss, global warming alarmist would be in a state of total euphoria.

        • Blah

“Troll” is one of the nicer words!

      • bluff bunny

If Al Gore and the rest of those morons REALLY BELIEVED in global warming, why aren’t they buying up land in Alaska?
As the famous saying goes : follow the MONEY.

  • http://lenbilen.com/ Lennart Bilén

My real research has made me see signs we are entering a new (little) ice age. You may benefit from doing some research yourself. Here is a partial list:

    • http://www.myvollara.com/texas Ancoman

That was actually a pretty educational piece! Thanks. I’ll use this information next time I have to argue with a liberal idiot.

  • USAPatriotSC

You sem to have the same facts as Gore, hot air and an empty head.

  • Bandit

Can you prove that the earth is warming, and where. Look at the ice caps they are many times thicker than they have been in the past. The ice down in the Antarctic is thicker now than it was 15 years ago., so if the planet is so hot now then give an exact location, Here in the desert where I am the temps are lower now than they were 10 years ago.

    • Made_in_the_USA

I don’t want to cause any alarms here, but as I remember from science class back in the ’60s, (when we were still kinda being educated…. without ‘commie core curriculum’) our sun is slowly burning itself out. That means, in simple terms, that in a billion or so years Earth will be just another ice cube floating in the solar system.
And BTW, why is the USA the only country that seems to be alarmed at the global warming illusion? As if the USA is the only country causing this imaginary problem. I would speculate that if there ever proves to be any harmful effects on our climate, they are caused by the 3rd world countries that ignore whatever we say anyway.

  • John Cherish

Chicken little said “the sky is falling” believe what you want to this does not make it so.

    • WellNowDear

The “Cap & Trade” scam is one of the top reasons for the Global Warming shout out. Greenies love one thing green for sure–the almighty dollar. Warming leaders make big bucks selling something that doesn’t exist namely–Carbon Footprints.

      • Roger

Yep, just follow the money. Easy money!

  • Frank W Brown

Don’t beat a dead horse, it really makes you look silly!

  • Henry L

Please explain how warming trends release methane gas.

  • Henry L

    Excellent observation.

  • John Cherish

Actually plants convert CO2 into O2 by photosynthesis splitting and removing the carbon from the air which the plants use in the formation of their structures they do release CO2 at night but contrary to what you wrote it is not an equal amount as taken in. It is significantly less. Most of the the carbon is thus locked up in the plant itself thus when you burn a tree (wood) you release part of that carbon also the same with fossil fules like coal since in physics all the mater that has ever existed on earth is in one form or another by conservation of matter there would be no increase that would be out of normal ranges. The earth will correct itself by shutting down the thermal cycles in the oceans because of an increase in fresh water in the oceans and because of a loss of salinity thus making the north and south polar regions colder and freezing fresh water again restarting the thermal cycle its all about climate that has been going on for eons

    • Compte de Grasse

Consider also that CO2 is heavier than the other majority gases in the atmosphere (Oxygen and Nitrogen…compare mole weights in the Table of Elements). Thus gravity will tend to keep CO2 close to the surface where it is ingested by plant life. The notion that CO2 will collect in the upper atmosphere and act as a “greenhouse gas” is not possible due to these natural properties.

  • Blastoff

So, gore and others argue the temps at the poles warmed up 3 degrees Celsius over the past several years, causing the ice to melt leading to possible flooding due to rising ocean levels. Now, let me be clear; I am not a scientist. However, I am capable of logical thought process. So, if the temps are 40 degrees below zero, and warm up to 37 degrees below zero, are those temps not still below zero? Is zero not the freezing point on the Celsius thermometer? If the temps are below the freezing point, how can the ice be melting at levels to cause the oceans to rise? Logic tells me that gore and his ilk are not thinking right. A couple of years back China had their coldest winter in 100+ years.

    • John Cherish

There is a natural process going on that is the slowing of the thermal escalator in the oceans. Brought about by more fresh water in the oceans this causes the it to slow and stop in the oceans thus lowering the temperature at the poles causing the fresh water to be once again locked up in the ice caps in ice. The earth is self regulating its temperature the only thing that will cause a net increase in temperature is the radiated energy output from our sun increasing and decreasing less energy=colder, more energy=hotter, CO2 & methane are minor factors probably irrelevant overall in regards to temperature

      • Blastoff

Yes, sir. I tend to agree. My post was getting a bit long. Therefore, I did not go into a comparison between the ability of our population causing more effects on climate than could be caused by the sun and the earths natural tendencies.

    • http://www.myvollara.com/texas Ancoman

Yeah, according to their logic, yankees wouldn’t be able to survive in Texas and vice versa.

If these sub zero temps are a result of global warming, I shudder to think about global cooling! All them poor polar bears & penguins will freeze to death.

  • muf69

The only change has been Al Gore’s bank account. He has flim flamed his way into the multi millionaires club at the tax payers expense. Wake up America just another con costing you.

  • StatEco

Explain why the global warming idiotic advocates are flying jets around disposing a few millions times more carbon monoxide into the free air than average Americans? (like HarrisonFord flying 3 jets) And using 50X more electricity in their mansions?
Many of us just silently pick up others’ trash, plant grass and plant trees & shrubs.
So shut up. BTW You’re is not equal to Your.

  • Henry L

Your first sentence suggests that you are not far from being one.

  • Ole SC

You are calling someone else and idiot? I don’t know where you live but have you checked the temperature out side, it’s the coldest day on record for many areas of the Country. And you actually believe that Cow Farts (methane gas) are destroying the earth! The next time that you call someone and idiot, I suggest that you should be looking in your mirror!!!!

    • fbpdplt

Maybe it’s Amy farts…..lay off the beans Amy….you’re melting ice

      • Ole SC

You just may be correct on that and she may be evidence that they are damaging the brain as well! LOL

      • Henry L

Amy is burning her methane gas.

      • ol jim

Lol, you guys are so nasty to this slug. Opps, guess I did it too. Sorry Amy, couldn’t help myself, people like you make it so easy.

  • rehabber

Don’t forget, your HERO Gore also invented the internet. lol

  • b glad

Let us see who is the real idiot here. You are right that global warming is real. So is global cooling and both have been happening off and on for the entire history of the earth, with or without the help of man. I don’t know where to find the “rreal” research you are talking about, but all unbiased scientific research I have seen leads to the conclusions raised in this article. Since levels of carbon dioxide are high and warming is not happening, i come to the conclusion that one must not have a detrimental effect effect on the other. Since methane gas comes from the decomposing of organic material (that which the greenies want to replace fossil fuels with), everything is going to have to die in order for its effect to be known, then we really don’t need to worry about it killing us.

  • Samurai_Sam

The only methane gas that’s being emitted is from you. Tell your story to the people that are stuck in 10 feet of global warming down in Antarctica. Yeah I know you’re going to tell me that’s caused by global warming too. You and your minions must be the smartest people on earth. You just keep on sipping the Kool-Aid honey. But if you really want to help the environment rid itself of excessive carbon dioxide stop breathing.

Talk about idiots! Have you ever heard of the ice age ? What caused that man made pollution or was it dinosaur farts. “Real” research including common sense says exactly the opposite of the hack research which has to be propped up with emails suggesting ways to continue the farce written by the same people that are perpetrating that farce.

But thank you for exposing us to your stupidity and gullibility. It’s a real treat to know that some of you are still clinging on.

  • WellNowDear

    Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha, Bwaaaaaaa!

  • WellNowDear

Ha,ha,ha,he,he,he! Thought it was now called “climate change” since the warming went away.

  • TeaPartyPat949

So, the Progressive left-wing sycophant’s solution to Global Varming is to tax Americans and take their cars and fuel away. Yeah, that’s not Statist nonsense at all.

  • Reverend Joe Ruyle

I always give credit when it is due…. and Mr. Gore did get point number nine 100% correct! To refresh:

“#9 The survival of the United States of America as we know it is at risk. And even more……. if more should be required…… the future of human civilization is at stake!”

The threat, however, is NOT “global warming” (which we should all be praying for because cold is 1000 times worse) but rather is from the very real threat of global liberalism and radical Islam. Both of those items have done FAR more damage to the world than the scare tactic (liberalism) of “global warming.”

For “Amy”……. if you TRULY believe in the hoax then YOU can do YOUR part to save the planet! Yes indeed! To stop the build-up of both of those really scary (naturally occurring) gases……. all you have to do is never exhale…. and never participate in flatulence. That will stop your contribution to both the Co2 and CH4. We all thank you for your efforts.

    • WellNowDear

      Very will said.

  • fbpdplt

LMFAO….Amy don’t call anyone an idiot until you’;ve proven you are not one

  • Reverend Joe Ruyle

Actually plants take in CO2 and emit O2 as a byproduct of photosynthesis. The missing carbon atom is bound up in the production of cellulose which is the primary constitute of the wood. This carbon can easily be seen when the tree is burned. In fact the tree can be burned twice. The result of the first burning is a more pure form of carbon (charcoal) which can then be broken up and burned again.

    • Ole SC

Also without CO2 that plants take in to produce Oxygen, we would all choke to death for lack of Oxygen ( O2)

  • Compte de Grasse

Amy, any student of Botany, Physics, and Chemistry will recognize you for what you are……..as far as “rreal” research goes, the current local temperature here is minus 24F. You ought to check your Øbama-Care policy to see if your BRAIN FREEZE is a covered pre-existing condition !

    • ol jim

      Now that was funny.

  • Frederikahere

Excuse me, it’s “you ARE” or “you’re” an idiot.
Global warming is real, just as obamacare saves money, you can keep your health plan if you like it, the gov’t always tells us the truth and the one you know best: the Kool-aid won’t hurt you.

    • ol jim

If you like your global warming, you can keep your global warming, period.

  • Daniel F. Melton

That’s not methane. Amy forgot to brush.

  • Daniel F. Melton

We’ve got to sacrifice our national economy to save the world from anthropogenic global warming; uh, global climate change; no, wait, it’s climate disruption; well, maybe it’s global climate weirding…. Nope! It’s “Catastrophic Climate Disruption”, until they rename the non-phenomenon again. Never mind what we call it we’ve gotta DO something, even if it increases the stranglehold of government regulations, makes rich liberals even richer, and collapses the global economy with no discernible effect on the climate.

  • ECwashr

Liberal fools have an excuse and a lie always at the ready for Obama and “global warming”. A liberal coworker told me that the record cold winter is because, “global warming causes extreme cold temperatures also”. I just turned away, astonished at her ignorance…

    • http://www.myvollara.com/texas Ancoman

I stopped being astonished at liberal ignorance years ago.

  • ECwashr

I just did a report on global warming for college. I decided to get my info from outside the USA. Two world famous Russian scientist say the earth has actually been in a cooling phase for the last 10 years. Now who am I to believe, Al Gore, who knows nothing about weather, is not a scientist nor a meteorologist and has made millions and millions of dollars from his global warming hoax. Or two Russian scientist who work at the world famous Pulkovo Observatory who state this cooling phase could last from 200 to 250 years and have nothing to gain or lose except their reputation which means everything to them. At last count over 250 scientist have sued Al Gore to remove their name from his global warming movie nonsense. Wake up! Global warming is nothing but a tool for greater governmental control over the people of the United States. Stop being what Obama calls a “useful idiot”.

  • Terry

So idiot, was “GLOBAL COOLING” real in the 1970’s? Because these same idiots were predicting “another ice age in the next century” in the 1970’s.

  • millerstwo

Amy, aren’t a lot of people agreeing with you and ‘Idiot Al’. You read the list of big Al’s irrational and ludicrous statements and you still support him Amy? Really Amy don’t you think it’s time to start thinking for yourself.

  • mperkins2

Amy please take a biology class. I’ll help you get started. Humans breath oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. Plants breath carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen. That is a partnership of sorts between mankind and mother earth. The more carbon dioxide plants intake the more healthy and strong they become in turn producing more oxygen to make us humans stronger and healthier. I hope that is not to complicated to understand because I made it as simple as possible. Biology can be fun please check it out.

  • celticwaryor

I started give you an example of where you could go to see the warming/cooling periods recorded in the ice layers. But decided not to because I don’t think you could find Switzerland on a map…let alone get there. It’s only been about 10,000 years ago that we had our last Ice Age. Not knowing what the temperatures were before that last big freeze, how do you know whether or not any perceived warming isn’t the result of getting back to norms established before the ice age. So, tell me Amy, when those last glaciers retreated, what global warming BS caused that? How many cars and factories were polluting the skies? How many coal-fired power plants were disgorging copious amounts of CO2 back then.
I’ve rattled on enough, but I have done the “rreal [sic] research by getting a degree in Geology. So whenever I see someone so ill-informed as you are, it’s hard not to respond. And methane gas? Puleease! Go do some research yourself and then come back and have a legitimate conversation. Scheeesh!..

  • allen goldberg

wow..still drinking the kool-aid? Perhaps you need to have someone read the article to you…again.

    • ol jim

Any one notice Amy ain’t saying anything now?

In the year 2000, “they” were saying that in just a few years, kids would be growing up not ever seeing snow, and “they” were not talking about Floridians. Now they have done a 180 and are blaming/crediting the huge snow piles east of the great lakes on GW!
“They” were saying the polar bears were going extinct, but their population has grown instead.
“They” were saying that hurricanes would increase, but we haven’t seen much in the Atlantic in many years.
