Obamacare Invalid: Tax Bills Must Originate in House of Representatives, Not the Senate

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) may now be invalid because the Supreme Court ruled that it relies on a tax for implementation. According to the United States Constitution, all tax bills must originate in the House of Representatives. This law originated in the Senate, because at the time the Democrats were selling it as a purchase – not a tax. Since the Supreme Court has ruled that the law is indeed based on a tax increase, it would have had to be initiated as a bill in the House of Representatives. Consequently, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Law is unconstitutional on a different criteria than the ones considered by the Supreme Court in this latest landmark decision. By calling the individual mandate unconstitutional but allowing the law as a federal program to be funded by new taxes, Justice Roberts essentially nullified the law.

Excellent point. Chief Justice Roberts, himself is a Scholar; he is like a law library. Things can be manipulated and lack of research, etc.. can cause him to see it differently. Liberals want to replace him with another liberal to be chief justice which would make things much worse.

“THEY” can call it what they will but “THEY” are going to force it down our throats no matter what it is called, violence is coming. Who’d a thought that combat trauma surgeons would be getting their training in gunshot wounds in places like DEADtroit, chiCONGO, BLACKlanta and District of Coloreds? But
Anything you have to pay for that you do not get a service is a tax.

Why does roberts get all of the credit for saying congress can tax and spend. I mean duh, we have been living the reality forever.
What about justice kennedy who said, if congress can reach out and command even those furthest removed from the interstate market, then the commerce clause becomes a front for unlimited power.
